M9 & M13 Thrad

Did an M9.
Sold a bunch of pedals and got the M9 with money from that. I'm still trying out all of the different effects right now, so I haven't yet integrated it with my other pedals. The only thing I've noticed is that for some reason the distortions create a huge amount of buzzing whereas the other effects don't, so I need to sort that out. Anyone else have that problem?
I'm sort of bummed because I've lost a lot of my hearing in my right ear due to eustachian tube dysfunction (symptom of my sinus infection), so I'm not hearing everything as it should be, but what I've heard sounds great. I particularly like combining multiple reverbs with a delay or vice versa. No real complaints regarding the effects, but I wish they had included an Electric Mistress model instead of 2 different MXR flangers, but that's not a huge deal.

I've not had that problem at all, weird. Is it like an exaggerated "singlecoil hum-buzz" kind of noise, or something more unusual? Are you using the 2 outputs to plug into 2 different amps or something?plaidbeer wrote:Did an M9.

I think "exaggerated single coil hum-buzz" would be an apt description. I'm using a Tele Thinline and am sitting in front of it with the amp just to the left of me, but facing me. Tried it both with headphones (how I normally have to play) and without and it's the same buzzing. I'm using decent cables, but they're kind of long so that might play into it.
It only really happens with the drive effects and goes from bad to worse with the ones that have higher gain settings. I've noticed that if I turn to my right, it's not quite as bad, but still very present. Not a huge deal I guess, because I do have an OD my friend built and Mike's Rat Clone for dirt and that frees up the M9 for other things. The overdrives on it are pretty good, though, and I was pleasantly surprised by the classic distortion and fuzz face.

The fact that it goes away when you turn away from the speaker suggests to me that it's a 60 cycle hum issue... this can worsen with poorly shielded cables or other electrical interferences (such as flourescent lighting). When I record P-90s through my Marshall at high-gain I try to stand at a 90 degree angle to the face of my cabinet.plaidbeer wrote:I've noticed that if I turn to my right, it's not quite as bad, but still very present.

I'm wondering if might just need to replace my current cable then. It's a 6 ft. cable, which is actually 3 ft. longer than I actually need since I'm in a small spare room and I'm only a ft. at most away from the pedalboard when playing. It's a Monster cable that I bought last year. Do you have any suggestions for a better quality cable?
I finally stuck the M9 at the end of the chain of my remaining pedals and had a blast yesterday. I used my drive pedals for overdrive, distortion, and boost and then the M9 for everything else. It worked out really well.
