I already admitted it was stupid and that I won't be doing it again here, jesus.

It is when it turns into a witch hunt and you start attacking bystanders.

... then you chose to attack the people who pulled you up in the first place?

Hahaha, sorry it's entirely non-cricket to post pm's in a public forum, and I apologise for that, but I couldn't not:

I was trying to mitigate some of it to PM to get this thread back on topic, but fine. And don't take it out of context.
"You take pride in mob justice? You're no better than any violent racist or person prejudiced against gays, then. You've simply decided it's okay to hate a different group of people, and throw people into that group that don't even belong in it. And you're willing to go to any means to get rid of them."

Aye, that sentence really suffers being taken out of contect and all.

Hating people because of their hate of another is rather different to hating someone for something beyond their control.

I give up trying to explain myself, not posting anymore in this thread. PM me if you have more crap to sling at me. I don't hate anyone...

Then I'm satisfied, can't speak for the rest. But it definitely seems like you're repeatedly defending your use of fa**ot, but I could just be misinterpreting posts. Forum posting is extra easy to read thoughts in a way they are not intended.
If you own up to it being poor word choice, understand why it was unacceptable and aren't going to to do it again then I'm done in this thread...
except to say that while I love the way they sound, strats visually bore me to death.

Yay! Can we start talking about strats again?
Call me boring but I have one of those 1996 "50th Anniversary Bullet" Strats or whatever they're supposed to be. It's black and white. I know they're the ultimate dull default colour scheme but I really like the non fussiness of it. Take this one for example. After the whites have faded and it looks a little battered it can look great...

I have a huge hard-on for this one, surf green and hardtail

You'd think so, but that's only because we don't wear nametags. At least not most of the time.
Anyway, I'm done addressing it.

Having hated Strats for my whole life I feel like I'm betraying my principles, because over the past few months I've suddenly developed a real liking for them. If I had one I'd have to mod it to look something like robroe's black duocaster though:

I use the middle pickup too much in the standard configuration. THough I guess it would be interesting to try neck+bridge, which the standard 5-way doesn't allow.

Neck and bridge together is my favourite guitar sound by far. I did really like middle and bridge when I was playing my friend's Strat the other day though... I think the only way I could want a three pickup guitar is if each pickup had an individual on/off switch for ultimate versatility, like the Hofner Galaxie.

Anyway... let’s get back to the Stratocaster shall we.
[edit] due to my slow typing skills we were back talking about the Strat by the time I posted this. please ignore

Yeah that's very cool but I would never ditch the middle pickup. It's way too fun!
I discovered the lead singer/guitar from a band called Hold Your Horse Is has a great Strat twist...
It's basically just got two outputs. One seperate output does neck pickup which feeds into a JCM800. The other is for the humbucker which feeds into a sub woofer type amp. Has no other volume or tone, switches etc. His pedals consist of a kill switch for the sub and a tuner.
