I hope you don't mind but there was some gunk floating about and the edges still had a bit of blue from the background:

I don't mind at all. There was so much nonsense around the edges that I'd had enough of it by that point.

Sunburst body

It's by no means perfect, but it's a right bastard to edit.
:D :D :D WOAH perfect.

Sunburst will be the hardest one by far, so its good its done. Natural finish can just be a picture of wood cut into a mustang shape, same with sparkle and paisley.
About the decal thing and other small bits, you can cut them out of a large sized image and rescale them afterwards to make it easier to cut them out accurately.

Do you have good pictures of the control plate and bridge? I'm doing a rosewood neck now, then at some point I'll do the dot inlays. Other than the pickups we'd be able to put together a full guitar from that and see how we're doing. I did it a bit with the sunburst body on the drawing you gave for the scale (body, pickguard, headstock and tuners) and it looked good. If there's a stock Fender picture with a jag that has blocks and binding doing the necks will be easy, just a bit time consuming. Maple will be a bit more difficult but doable.

I have some of teh control plate and bridge yeah. Gettig a pic of different necks would be good.. but getting rid of strings and inlays might be tricky.

If someone could find a Fender picture (like this) with blocks and binding on a 24" neck that would be useful. A standard scale neck would probably be useful still, but 24 would be easiest. One of the japanese sites might have something.

Direct links for people with the black theme since half of the decal won't show up against the background.

I made this using some of the parts I've done and zaphods decal. zaphod can you resize and arrange that to fit the scale?

Image
I might make the sunburst on the upper horn go more towards the neck. I used the back of a body for that part of the sunburst and it has a different shape.

Here's the rosewood neck. The heel is a little rough but to scale it's not noticeable. There are a few extra bits I didn't erase on the large one that are gone on the smaller one.

I'm off to work shortly. If someone can find blocks and binding on a 24" neck in a very clear picture, ideally a fender stock one, I'll do that tonight or tomorrow. If not a 22 fret neck of longer scale should be ok, and I'll scale it down.

I posted up the large version of the neck because somebody might be able to tidy and scale it better than i did.

It'd be good to have things like other body shapes, the orginal duo pickguard shapes and things like that. More people need to get involved though. The photoshop skills required aren't difficult, just time consuming. Even finding the starting images takes quite a bit of time simply because there are so many things to get.

If we did a super-sonic it would mean getting the body shape, as well as various pickguard shapes. It'd be possible to do it in sunburst but quite a hassle. I think it'd be worthwhile to get as much done as possible as long as quality isn't comprimised on the way, but it defintely means more people being involved.
