i aged one of the robroes and it warped too much, so i slapped my red lace in the neck(i dig it, fuck off)
and sprayed the other robroe with amber tint.
its getting there, but its in need of some some more nut work. and possibly another lace sensor in the bridge.

i've been neglecting it a bit recently with all the excitement of the blue one. i might take it to rehearsal tonight for old times' sake.
edit: although, having said that i just bought a black-tipped vibrato arm for it, so i'm not that bad a parent.

I think I'm warming up to the idea of a vintage stang now, I don't own anything vintage and I'd love a mustang so why not a vintage one?
Also SPANGLE AVATAR!

i'd never argue with a man with vintage mustang lust in his eyes... you should get one.
i think spangle might actually be my father.

i realised about a year ago that i'd probably never own a vintage jag. it's not so much the money- i
could buy one (although i'd have to sell a load of stuff) but i just can't justify the amount i'd have to spend. 2 grand? them's crazy prices!

but, its like 1100.00 shipped for a used u.s. jag(avri) and about 1800.00 for an all og, beat to shit jag.
so thats really only like 700 more dollars for some mojo!

Bollocks.
Find me one I'll pay that much in a heartbeat. The going rate is more like $3000+

I got my Jaguar back from it's little spruce up today. I'm glad to say it's happy and healthy, I've been playing it all day. The vintage pups are so different from my modern versions. I wouldn't say better, just different. I took the mute off it straight away and stuck it in a drawer along with the one from the reissue.
I'm off out tonight so I plan on spending my recovery day tomorrow making some new shielding for it, popping on a new set of strings and giving it a good hammering.

Please tell me that "someone" wasn't you.

Hahaha, no, it wasn't me. I do wish they were the original single coils. They are high end DiMarzios in there right now. I have a little desire to get some old Jazzmaster pickups and have a Jag with soapbars, which would be pretty awesome I think. I'm just barely starting to learn about stuff even as small as switching pickups, but the 'gear' side of things seems pretty neat.

If I was you I would return that to stock. even with the stupid route in the middle you would be doing that guitar a big favour.

It's an interesting burst- there's hardly any red in it at all. Yep, shame about the humbuckers. I wouldn't make it worse by adding Jazzmaster pickups- that'd require more routing and look awful.

I think it would look riotously hot with a new pickguard and some regular Jaguar single coils.

Not to the anti-sunburst faction.
