When you had controls on there how did that dimarzio pickup sound in it? I've been considering swapping a new pickup into my MIA p bass. I have experience with the Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounder and I like that pickup, but I wanted to see what the dimarzios had to offer too.
It's never had controls and the dimarzio la, i could never be arsed fitting them. Based on the everything full sound it should be reet though!
Are those GFS Jazzmasters as good as they look? I always find myself staring at them on their site, but I keep thinking I should just get a "real" one. I already have a cij jazzmaster, how do those GFS ones compare?
edit: I know I should search, but I was just hoping for a quick answer
thing plays great. i love the pickups. strat neck was dropped right in with zero issues. its a little lighter in weight than my AVRI jaguar. that things a bitch after playing for an hour.
I don't actually know much about the Yasuma to be honest. There's review of other models on HC etc. but this is about the only info I've found about this one:
It's not exactly the same as mine though, the bridge is different, there's no neck binding and the truss rod on mine isn't adjustable from the head stock.
These days it's not that great to play, as the body has bowed a bit over time, so it either needs to have the bridge shaved down or the neck reset (probably the latter). It does have a nice deep sound to it though.
Here my redone Gordon Smith Gypsy2 from the 80ies..it had a Kahler trem, which was removed and filled, then a Schaller Badass installed. Honduran mahagony, fretboard looks like brazilian rosewood..
the other one is a Special DC built from a kit ( PGK, Canada)
Cos it's Gibson it has a stupid name: Teal "flip-flop". Very close to OTM, it's a really good finnish. It looks bluish/green depending on the viewing angle. I don't play I much so it might go out for trade for a Jazzie or something.
