ha, my first guitar was from there.
What's it like nowadays ?? I think I went early 00's but don't think it was as good as it was back then.

Don't think any guitar shop is though really !!

I just remember them hanging guitars really really high, and this jazzy was in the top corner.

it's moved a couple of times, it's now on the southside. i bought my guitar in 2004 (i think) and they didn't have much vintage stuff that i could see, though they had a jagmaster and a japanese compstang that were definitely second hand... they also had one of the mogwai big muffs that i'm kicking myself i didn't buy. they don't do much in the way of guitars now at all, more brass/woodwind and drum stuff from what i've seen.

see, i'm tempted to think this is a myth, as my coronado has hotter pickups than any other vintage fender i've owned (and i've had quite a few now). maybe mine is some kind of circus freak.
Seems likely. Mine is whisper quiet. Also a 66.

When will we get a demo of the Pink-stang?
Its definitely got potential! It really needs a 1 meg pot before i can say for sure, then theres people like kurtis novak out there too
pank stang needs new wiring, but thats a $24 purchase

now i'm wondering if a previous owner has had mine rewound or something. it's the only coronado i've ever played so i've nothing to compare it to.

Mine is stock and its pup is comparible to my other vintage stuff as far as output goes. The difference in sound is less bitey to my ears. you guys have the silver or black pups?

Not much changed for me:
► Show Spoiler
There's the LaPatrie and the '57 Dano. The others are a 1915 Lange tenor banjo with nylon strings and an SX 335. I just fixed the SX up so it can sub for the Dano if need be - the bridge PUP is just for show; it's wired Neck-only with a kill switch. Actually sounds quite good.

I'm just curious, what is the advantage of that as opposed to just turning the volume down on the bridge pickup and leaving it connected? Is there actually a notable sound difference?

Mostly it was because I had to completely rewire the thing and I didn't want to spend time hooking up a bit I wouldn't use. And I didn't have enough of or the right pots.

Yeah I recently spent €450 on that Firebird having it setup (the works, fret leveling) and rewired by a luthier here in Dublin by name fo Derrick Nelson who has built guitars for U2. It plays like a dream now and the action is nice and low. That's my number 1.

here is a shitty cell phone (instagram) pic of my #1 & #2 guitars at the moment..

it half goes here and half in the shortscale section.. but i'll just post it here

Image

CP HH Jaguar (that i've swapped the neck pickup for a cp jag single coil...)
still wired with a kill switch.. neck roller knob does nothing
bridge roller knob is still essentially the humbucker -->single coil blend
Lower control switches
neck - neck pup on/off
mid - bridge pup on/off
bridge - phase reverse switch for neck pickup

BT Jazzmaster
Neck pickup is CP jazzmaster pickup
Bridge pickup is GFS "Vintage Split Humbucker- Classic Fender Style" sounds like a PAF crossed with a WRHB but i'm happy with it (certainly not a WRHB sound that some would expect)

it should be noted that on the jaguar, i replaced the MIM? 9.5 radius baseball bat neck it came with, with a 1966 duo sonic II skinny as fuck neck.
and i much prefer it now.
i suspect i'll eventually replace the largish 9.5 radius jazzmaster neck with a vintage spec neck at some point as well.. (probably just an allparts strat neck though due to pricing)

did you change the bridge to a mustang bridge?
