Concretebadger, Never had a Mustang, but yeah, 3 way toggle.

I had a '63 Strat for many years, and it sat under the bed 'cuz I was always playing the Duo-Sonic.

This guitar has a great middle position sound which I've heard is a result of the p'ups summing up to be
what is essentially a humbucker. Something about one of the p'ups being rotated 180 degrees?

One more of the headstock.
Slab neck. 1 1/2" at the nut.
Gotoh replacement tuners.

Extremely sweet! Looks to be in mint condition.

I have found, after going through many guitar/amp combinations, that the Duo Sonic straight through
my Bandmaster to have hit a real sweet spot.

US Mustangs only came in Red White and Blue- if not a refinish, it's quite possibly a blue guitar with heavy clear that yellowed severely.


*edit- being from Australia, my red white and blue comment isn't relevant- still think it might have been a blue with yellowing

My JS.Minus thephase switches, finished in Alpine White, loaded with Seymour Custom Custom and an SD Invader, red tort scratchie, extra string tree and tophat knobs. Bridge and trem cemented for life! Rewired with top end CTS 500k pots, vintage braided wiring and legit vintage bumblebee caps.







Ive also got an original issue; mint and stock except for the same pickup combo as the above.

Next project; marrying a JS neck to a Fender Mascis body to create my ultimate rig:

Greetings. I am from Lancaster, PA and I have a Teisco short-scale bass. It was thrown away and a complete mess, so I rebuilt it and it plays very well. Pulled the frets and inlaid maple to make it fretless. Next step will be to upgrade the bridge.

It's a '65. The bridge pup is a SD lil '59. I got the body and neck separately, they just happened to be the same year.

The JM is actually more blue, it just looks green in that photo. It's a parts guitar, the body is a '61 and the neck is a MJT/Flex guitars dots and binding vintage spec neck. I got the neck for a song over on offset. A guy had bought it for a Strat project but he hated the relic job MJT did on it so he sold it on. It is pretty beat up but nothing that affects playability. The neck is actually really great. It feels more like a real vintage one than the profile of modern necks. It didn't have a d3c4l when I got it so I popped a JM one on there.

This is a better shot of the colour. It used to just have a Japanese Squier Strat neck on it like this:
And this is what it looked like when I got it. The Jag nech in the picture was a '65 one I picked up at the same time (prob one of the last clay dots ones).

Ah I see. This one is a refin' done in nitro by Dave of this very parish. Hahaha! I almost traded it for a Coronado last year but it turned out to be a 12 string so I never went through with it. Then I got my Coro 1. It plays like a dream.
