A new low, but this is the most spurious excuse ever for a photo-bomb.

d'yerknow, the more i look at the jazzmaster the more i don't mind the bridge. the jack is an ugly blemish but i could live with it. the jag is pure cack though.

and  @benecol.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle, the Jazzy does have the concentric knobs. That's some whack shit. It also comes in sunburst WHAT A SURPRISE

Im curious to see the other finish options as well. I hope not all of the jag's have zebra humbuckers.
Good luck with that.

My money is on the only options being exactly what you see there. Maybe one of them will come in sunburst.
Squier/Fender are as predictable as ever with their colour options. The spec sheet above says the Jag only comes in the fiesta red style colour, the jazz in butterscotch and sunburst.

Jazzmaster also has concentric knobs.

Also, they totally are modern reissue Danelectro bridges. Which means it'll be easy to be rid of them and replace them with something a bit more appropriate. In fact, I could just stick that bridge on my wooden-saddled dano (as they're a direct retrofit) and then start drilling away into the Squier. Considering those bridges are about £45 anyway, that's sort of like a saving. BONUS.

there'll be a big screw hole towards the back of the bridge though, no?

edit: forgot you'll be filling the jack hole and refinishing the body etc etc.

i'd rather just save up a bit more and buy a better guitar, if i was in the market for a new one.

According to a guy on offset the spec sheet doesn't have the full colour listing and the jag also comes in sunburst.

Because if the world needs anything, it's more sunburst guitars.

Are those bridges something that was previously out there? I'm actually interested in a bridge very much like that.

Allparts stocks them, as does Danoguitars as a direct replacement and maybe other places. Just look for Danelectro bridges, there are only really two types, these ones and the ones with the single wooden saddle. They've been around for ten years or more. Still, I like how Squier are sort of suggesting that they're somehow innovative and "unique". They're dirt-simple.

Yea, I got one from here couple years back to replace the rosewood bridge on my brothers Danelectro. They are very good quality and came perfectly intonated for the guitar I might add.

Fuck. $50 for those things. Nevermind. They are kind of ugly anyway, too angular. Like my face.

That's what I'm saying, they're sort of expensive for what they are, but if these new Squiers come out at around £250 then it's worth it for me because I'll be replacing so much I can just swap that bridge straight onto my Dano.

Mmmmm, I would probably just swap it out for a hardtail strat bridge. easy Peasy. I really like those, actually.
