shit thats how i end up with all my gear, and then when I'm sober I realise what was great and what wasnt but it it wasnt for beer/wine I wouldnt even get to try half the stuff I have recently.
Go for it kim, as you say (and your experience with the jag) its hard to find a lefty in a setup you fancy. also a great reward for the shifts your currently putting in

yeah it's totally tempting while they're still available..and not many lefties this side of the woods putting any up for sale 2ndhand anytime either...but i feel awkward knowing i could order and have it but it would still be second to the jag, not much play..i'm a one guitar sort of person if one works, i don't bother with anything else..and now the jap 69 stang is collecting dust.. :/ afraid it'll be the same for a hb compstang...i can't justify it. but it'd be nice to have...sell the 69...but no buyers for a lefty 69ri stang... if i could trade i defo would. guitars piling up is not good....well it is..but not in my current 'space' situation..

The Cobain really is a great sounding guitar, though. I doubt you'd have it and never play it. If you want an awesome short scale with a great lead sound at a comfortable but still substantial 7 and a half pounds, nice alder body, there isn't anything else.

trade my 69 jap for one ? YES.
buy another guitar ? NOP. can afford, can't justify. not towards anyone, but i'd feel sorry for it, the jag gives me all the sounds i need, love it to death, it's heaby as fuck, but it sounds massive. i doubt the stang with hb could get near it. i just looks cool and a hb on stang is awesome, but if i can have all that and more with my main guitar now, then it'd be silly. the jap stang hasn't been touched since i got the jag tbh, cleans, dirty, rythm, lead, does it all better. just much more heavy but i get used to it, my first was a heavy as fuck epi les paul and then years of being bass player i don't mind heavy guitars.

I finally got around to making a demo:

Yes, the only bands I know how to play are Nirvana and Belly.

Ok so if I lower the cigar, and change the springs to the farthest position, is that enough to keep the Cobain in tune better? I simply LOVE the sound of teh Kurdtz, but it won't stay in tune!! I don't even care about whammying. So as I said, for someone who isn't going to whammy, would the best setup be to lower the cigar and adjust the springs to the far notch? I have read both of the great guides, but I am concerned only with gaining tuning stability, I don't care to whammy. I just want the lil devil to stay in tune.

The way I set mine up (and I have 9.5s on it now) is that I'll tune it up to pitch, stretch, tune, stretch, tune, and then I start using the whammy and diving, then tune up to pitch, dive, tune, dive, tune, rinse and repeat. Eventually you'll get to a point where nothing you do normally will knock it out of tune and if it does, just dive the tailpiece a little bit.
But if you never want to whammy, I say you just take the springs off completely and put some washers on it.

Still waiting on mine. The website wasn't working when I was putting in the serial number, so I called Fender UK and they said to send them an email.
