also i got it at my local gutiar center for 900 bucks.

thats the best part. the action was fucked and the nut was broke. you couldn't even make a note past the 12th fret on 4 of the strings and couldn't play anything on 2 of them. but i saw potential

50 dollars later given to http://www.wronashouseofviolins.com/

this place fixes shit to spec for a living. like thats all they do. i went in and said i want a nut made out of 60's fender nut material and they said "yeah we do that, this neck is tiny it will be easy"

and i got a ace player

guts are untouched scummy goodness

Image

its actually a 65 with a 64 left over neck according to the pickup dating and headstock decal dating

Newly bought teh kurdtz mustang, SD twangbanger in bridge, Fralin SP43 in neck, new pickguard, replaced stock TOM with original bridge and thimbles (cos it's actually strung right handed, and the angled TOM wouldn;'t have stood a chance intonating correctly. Plus I prefer this over the TOM) I wanted a lefty stang, not a kurdtz one:

So... you play it righty? Or you're a lefty that plays with the strings upside down?

Looks VERY nice btw.

mkt - Yeah, I'm a lefty, but 'learnt' on right handed guitars that were in the house when I was younger. It's actually ideal for Nirvana-esque rhythm guitar playing - 'power' chords couldn't be easier.

I'm older now though, and it is limiting in ways, but it's become my vibe, I'm never gonna be a technical guitarist, so no point in changing now! There are others who play like this too. Albert collins is one example, i tihnk? And the SFA guy Gruff.

This is my first lefty shaped guitar though, it feels so amazing to have contours, and be able to reach the top frets! thanks for your kind words my sibling

That's true, I think the singer from The Superfurry Animals plays the same (remember them?).

I read Jimi Hendrix started on a right handed guitar and could play left and right handed, just found it more comfortable lefty.

I had the pleasure of discussing this very topic with Gruff(?) from Super Furry Animals a few years back at the Africa Express event in Paris. I seem to remember him saying he's actually right handed! Either that or his brother plays an upside down lefty, ha...

and Albert Collins and Dick Dale too! turns out I've no excuse to be sh*t.
