Cheers Mike, I have been looking at the sites. The European ones are much better than the UK ones, I will probably order from them.

Also I looked into strip boards.. the look doable, I just cant figure out how to position the components on the board.

This is the view from the non copper side.

The red circles in squares are "cuts". Cut the copper trace at this point using a drill bit between your fingers like you're starting a tiny fire.
Get some SIL sockets from Banzai/musikding and snip them into 3s and use them as transistor sockets.

Does the voltage of the components need to match up or something? I'm looking at the 33k resistors at the minute, and there are 0.25W or 0.5W etc

Yes! I ordered my parts from Banzai Effects. I chose some pretty cheap components to keep the cost down a bit (first pedal, could all go wrong), but it should be good! I'm pretty excited to build it. I didn't order order any knobs, or casing. I thought I would get them when I need them and have decided what style/size to get etc. Thanks for the advice!
