I actually like it like that. It's different.

I'm thinking I'd like to do something similar to the Jaguar's tremolo, but have most of the guts under the pickguard...but, before I get too crazy and start taking tremolo orders, I should make a few prototypes.

Also, I'm not married to the idea of using the Jaguar's trem as a jumping off point, I'm just trying to decide the best why to hide the trem.
that would be quite cool. If i plan on ordering one, i would lke a tremolo.

Of all the bridge choices, it was the most handsome. Also, we just aren't at that stage where we can afford to design and build our own bridges/trems/whatnot. In time, however, I hope for that to change, but for now...I'll just have to make do with what's available.

The jaguar tremolo, sounds like the best idea. I saw these , and thought it would be easiest, But the price is a bitch.

Aug - what body thickness are you planning on?

1 5/8"

I'd like to do them at 1.5" (like Fender shortscales), but I need extra room for the channel for the input jack and the pots.

Is it a slab body? I'm thinking maybe a slab would look better than a contour to be honest...

what do I know...I'm a n00b here :(

I'm hoping for contours, but I like it either ways.

I hate contours. Besides, what does a 1 5/8" thick body need with contours?

:D great! I imagined it to be like a tele body...sort of square edges if you get what I mean.

i've actually heard mustang players who've jammed on ri's prefer the contours to the edges of the vintage gear.

I'll bet these same musicians never complain about playing on a thick ass tele with no contours.

The Mercury will not have contours, unless ya bastards pay fer 'em!

QUESTION:

I'm going to go ahead and use GFS Pro-Tube lipsticks, and according to the site, they'll fit a Strat with no mods, which means I can use a standard Fender single-coil template for the pickguard. Now for the question: I don't what screwholes/screws fucking up the look of the guard, so I want to mount them straight to the body with the strings under the tab, as opposed to between the tab and the pickguard. I will ship these guitars setup, so do youse guys care?

Wait...nevermind...this is MY FUCKING VISION! You'll get what I give you!

Uh oh. Bad Aug is back. I thought we were listening to musicians. :)

I wonder why more guitars aren't done that way. Even better, I don't want to see ANY PICKUPS OR KNOBS.

well...there is one flaw: You'll never be able to set the pups up by measuring the distance from the strings, unless you completely remove the pickguard and put the bridge in place...but, fuck it! I don't want no screwholes!

Sounds fine.

Have you decided on where and what type of switch you'll use?
