From what I've read and heard (I've tried one), it's more of a reverb-style delay with the small "clangtang" in there too to make it seem less fake. Not really recommended.
I think you're right, I once read that according to Danelectro guitarists used to kick their amps to do something to the reverb and this simulates that.

I do that on my cheapo Univox amp with real spring reverb. The reason is because it's a spring reverb, so when you rattle it makes a wicked booooooooooooooooing noise.

Cool, I'm gonna try that on my Studio 85. I'll probably be the first to break my toe

Don't kick it, you can just tilt rock the amp around.

The reverb has always been a bit temperamental on it, and I think I've broken it...SHIT.

Actually, all is well after turning it back on.

Reverb tanks often connect with a pair of RCA leads, just make sure it's not coming loose from one of the connections.

Yeah they're fine, if a leetle bit rusty on the outside, although the amp is older than I am. Once I took the tank out and it wouldn't work for a while, but it's fine now, it has always been pretty noisy though.

The rotary speaker effect was kinda cool though.
What did you hate about it?
It had a really bad bypass, no off/on footswitch, and the flange sounded really shitty.
The non linear effect was kinda cool, especially when playing My Bloody Valentine.

The 'Bypass' jack socket is designed for a footswitch  and I've got a flanger for the very very rare occasions that I'll use one.

Get a 63RI tank reverb.

No pedal can completely bring the sound it does.

Maybe so but carrying this:

around in addition to an amp and paying for £599 for the priviledge is incredibly silly.

Reverb is a shit effect anyway.

I'm not paying £599 for a sound you can get by PLAYING IN A ROOM

yeah, if you play all your gigs in cathedrals.

anyway, does anyone know if any pedals can capture the reverb sounds in this song?
