I saw the add, it just depends upon the quality. If it is a fender authorized one, you should be in pretty good shape though. Good lcuk with it.

My Shine Tele back when it had a pearloid guard and the old neck. White+maple is the way to go.

I was going to make it look like this

But decided white + maple looks better and got a MIM Fender neck for £80 or so.
Someone finally stopped putting pictures of guitars up backwards, but you forgot the strangs!

That guitar is sitting right next to me because i got the new neck today. Strung up will all 11s, tuned to D and the bridge wired straight to the jack.

i was thinking about that. but i'll probably end up getting Fender Sealed tuners like i have on my strat. like the ones in this EBAY LINKY i think they're super easy to install, compared to drilling tiny holes into the headstock...i have REALLLY shitty luck with that. but aug installed the first set i got, so i'll be doing this myself.

where can i get a decent headstock decal (besides guitarfather)? and what i do with that? put it on and then spray the fuck out of it with clear coat, si?

THats a mighty mite neck. They are okay i guess, I have no experience with them, but have heard decent things about them for the money. As far as decals go, search ebay for telecaster headstock decal, and choose wisely. If you want to sink it into the clear like new ones, DGNR8 can tell you his secrets, basically from what I've read, you have to mist light coats on the decal, let it dry, mist more coats, then spray a couple of heavy coats then wet sand?

I got mine from geocha at ReRanch. Not perfect but pretty nice. And Cowbells break down is what I did on mine.

That looks nice, would be even niceer with flat white scratcher. Fuck some pearloid.
YES. Pearl reminds me too much of those overdone JEMs.

I hadn't done anything before either. The guys here are pretty helpful. You'll do it no problem.

i can verify that mighty might necks are worth the price. deffinitly
as for decals when i did the gibson one, i just sprayed 3 coats, sanded, then applied the decal, and did everything normal but i put more emphisis on the edges of the decal and after 3 level sandings it blended in just fine.

okay. the neck came today! woo hoo. and i love how it looks and i think i'm going to love how it feels.

now, for the help part. so it fits nice and tight in the pocket when i put in there, but when i drill it down, a gap forms between the base of the neck the guitar...WTF?! i don't want to ruin the neck by continually unscrewing and screwing it...am i fucking retarded (yes, i probably am)? what's the best way to install a neck...god, i've been playing music for 13 years and i don't know how to do this shit...

anyway, here's what it looks like currently:
