Clean headroom is the only real issue I have (besides reverb, tremolo, and I prefer combos). If I were playing in a straight ahead rock band and let myself build a pedal board again, I'd be all over the TT.

Thanks for chiming in all: buzz successfully revived, I think. I want a really simple amp because I'm awful at dialling in sounds, so the caveman control options of the TT suit me. Playin mainly at home - the only time I'm playing out, I have to keep several sax's audible, so the lack of much clean headroom isn't an issue. And yes, I'm in the UK, where nothing (except life) is cheap, but the chocolate's better.

Lots of people keep mentioning the VC30, but I've just sold a LC15 that I've never been anything other than meh about.

it is a neat little head - and i love the fact its self biasing. so you can change the tubes easily to get different tones.

My TT makes me cry.

I love love (love) its dirty orange growl, its toaster like looks and the fact you can obliterate someone's face with it, simply by hitting one, well timed power chord. (that'll teach them to mock its admittedly pint sized presence).

But I hate the fact it seems to lack high end - It's just too bassy for me, and the bass/treble knob really only adjusts the amount of treble present in the same amount of bass (I guess it's a presence control then really). What I want to be able to do is reduce the amount of bass for a thinner sound. I've tried it with a couple of different cabs (PPC112 currently) and well, just can't get it to sound like I want it to.

Is it just mine? Nope, I've played two others (one in a shop, one at a mates house) to the same effect. I'd sum up the sound with two very scientific words:

"LACKS TWANG"

Don't get me wrong, it's a great sound, and if it only had separate bass/mid/treb (or even just bass/treb) controls I'd probably keep it.

Update - just bought it, woot woot. A Korean one too, for those that such things matter to. Cab being delivered tomorrow, I will contain my excitement until then. Thanks everyone for chiming in.

Tried an EQ pedal before it? Danelectro Fish n Chips is well cheap and excellent quality.

Other than that, you probably need to swap out the default tubes - stock ones are high gain and midrangey. Stick a 12AU7 in there to clean things up a bit, swap power tubes for some that are less compressed. lots of discussion on Orange forums for ideas.
