The resistance is just a measure of how wound the pickup is right? It doesn't messisarily give a perfect indication of output - in reality it's amount of winding + magnetic strength + other variable factors.

Considering these pickups are in the process of being patented, i assume there's something inovative going on under the hood, so the impedance rating can't be compared with regular pickups. So ignore the resistance rating, they must be overwound for a reason.

The guy from Seymour Duncan on HC said they already had trouble squeezing this pickup into a humbucker casing, cos the P90 is full sized and quite thick - he said there's no way they could fit a metal cover on it, let alone make it smaller.

Ehh. I think it is safe to say that a 8k pickup is considered a hot single coil and 10k is a hot P90. The reistance is an indication of the number of windings which has a direct relationship with the amount of current inducted and the "hotness" of the signal. I agree that it doesn't give the best indication but it certainly gives a ball park figure and I still think it is too hot.

The only way this wouldn't be hot if they used the weakest magnets available which is non starter or you use pins for pole pieces.

fuck this pixkup! don't be fooled people this is no more than a shitty humbuckorz!

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

well i'm not going to judge these pickups based on specs, I'd rather judge em on sound - this isnt thegearpage.net right?

Anyway the neck version is a bit more like you'd expect:

P-90 7.25k
Rails 5.60K
humbucker 12.87K

so, grab the neck version and put it in your pants/bridge!

i like the idea, but i would like to see something done about the aesthetics. i think they could do without the molding to show what part the single coil is and make it just a rectangle. yes? no?

I love how Seymour Buttz...uh, Duncan are all about THE TONES, and yet they don't even fucking close-mic the amp for the demo. Poor show, SD- poor show.

Defo, makes it look a bit spacky the way they've done it.
