i'll wait 'til i play one before reserving judgment. i wonder how soon guitar center will have them?
the good thing is that it won't be long until these things are all over the place for a few hundred. it'll be so nice to have cheap offsets for modding.

The only Fenders I have MIM. They're great.

The AVRI stuff is way too expensive here in the UK so I welcome these with open arms. The HH version of the Jaguar looks really classy I think.

dude, wutttt!?!? this is so awesome!! they are finally making new jazzmasters and jaguars with updated hardware! if you don't like these, whatever, get over it, you can still get an AVRI, this is just a different option for everyone else.

I will definitely be looking out for used ones of these in the next year or so.

yea, the most interesting thing, is they moved the tremolo closer to the bridge... I wonder if this will change the "sympathetic harmonizing" of the strings and whatnot. will have to play one and find out.

AVRI Jaguar in the US = $1,449.99

AVRI Jaguar in the UK = £1,069.00 = $2,109.45

I agree. This is long overdue. Fair enough i like the traditional set up but i've been hotrodding stuff for years. The availability of these guitars is good because a lot of players dont have the skills or extra money to change the spec on their offsets.
I dont see why people are getting uptight about it, it reminds of all those arseholes on youtube moaning about my videos abusing teh suRf guitars.

The people on offsetguitars.com are crying like the idiots they are, all upset and worried, mainly that this will lead to increased popularity of the instrument so they won't be a self-imagined clever-clique anymore.

There is definitely a percentage of them types over there, not all of them are so close minded though to be fair.
If Fender took the time to trawl through the Jag/Jazzy forums on here, JS.com and OSG.com it would become clear that they should have made these years ago. There is 10 years worth of it on JS.

What's wrong with Fender? Why not have more color options for such cool looking guitars?

they will probably offer more colors later.

Holy crap... this is great news!

I've bitched and whined in the past about Fender not making Mexican offsets. Now, I think I'm starting to regain my faith in Fender.

I'm curious, though... what is this "improved" version of the adjust-o-matic bridge? I hope that it has roller saddles, because I've never found trems to really work too well on TOM type bridges. Regardless, it's a minor point in my opinion, because TOM type bridges with rollers are easy and cheap to come by.

The only thing I'm not pleased with is the lame colour choices... I really hope Fender will add some more of the classic custom colours soon, because I WANT one of those Jags...

the closer trem makes it all worthkess too me, looks out of porportion. if they fix that and make it in some cool colors, i would definitely buy one

Yay affordable Fender Japan [/yawn].

...Which still doesn't diminish the curiosity I possess, I'm sure the quality will be quite nice.

I'm not sure what saddles the J Mascis signature Jazzy TOM has (he is a heavy trem user) but generally speaking, most of the guitar population would say a TOM is a far superior design to the traditional Jag/Jazzy bridge.
You would assume it will have roller saddles.

Its a more modern flatter radius. Jags are 7.25 traditionally but Fender have moved away from that due to modern playing demands, you will only get the old radius on vintage reissues. Some players complain about 'choking' on the old 7.25 radius.

agreed... I want that one too!

If they made the jazzy in more colors I would totally want one! I might look out for the black one on ebay though! I wouldn't pay $800 for a new one of these MIM's though, you can get a use AVRI for only a little bit more than that!
