I've always loved the surf green.

Maple as a Tele needs, I guess that's still the only one I'd do with a rosewood board and matching headstock, as many pastel colors seems to appreciate. Black seems to be winning at this point, and Mickie's specs are absolutely stunning but would require more attention than I could give to a partscaster. Just the same, doing a quasi-Duo Jet deal with walnut sides/back coupled with a single bound top in Gretsch orange would be siiiiick. :)

I was struck while playing my double bound/bigsby'd last night how heavy the whole shebang is. The black/binding/bigsby thing definately looks great though. I quite fancy the idea of binding on the front, weight-saving and comfy body contour on the back. B16 on an Esquire will be great though.

Maybe a reaction to my tele with all the trimmings, but I'm finding this classic b/w tele with contours very appealing:

I think the front contour is a little unnecessary and ruins the look of that guitar, which would be very nice otherwise.

I like the slab body of a Telecaster too, not having a belly contour just serves as extra motivation to lose the one attached to my body.

Aye, the countours feel great.

Binding is most definitely a sharper 90˚ angle than a standard unbound Tele, so I've experienced a little of the discomfort as well.

Of course, our ol' parts Tele Cindicaster was a delightfully contoured mess. Felt great 24/7.

Unfortunately drawn and quarter'd at the moment, Tim...with thine own nemesis (neck P90) and electronics the only parts remaining intact. :(

Elvis quiff, I like that...Gumby/Ronald Reagan sidegrease were the only ones that had come to mind.
