I saw a supersonic in my store today, a black one. Some kid had it and it was dinged and stickered all over. I felt so bad for it.

Thanks! I call it "Country Jag-Stang". It also has a dodge dart emblem out of a 64 dart 270. I did a thread on it somewhere.

Keep posting. You'll make your way to the classifieds. Don't worry. There are not any other super-sonics in there anyways.

you really need to make a thread about that jag-stang.
When I die, they'll say, 'He couldn't play shit, but he sure made it sound good!'

I love that headstock. Leo must have gotten really lucky in his engineering.

I've got a Blue Sparkle SS as well.
Recently it has become my main axe (besides a fender '69 thinline tele and a Gibby SG standard with Phat Cats)
Mines got a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a JB '59 in the neck and is a joy to play !
I play mine over an Orange AD30htc - great sound !

Its rumored that Leo actually stole that from Paul (?) Bigsby!
Bisgsby built a guitar in the late 40s or early 50s for Merle Travis with a VERY similar headstock. I'll see if I can find a pic...

Thought to be the first six-in-line guitar headstock, this appeared in drawings as early as 1946:
The 1948 prototype Telecaster had a 3x3 head, the production model and the p-bass used the familiar Tele head. The Strat didnt arrive until 1954.
Leo and Paul were friends so maybe it was all cool...

Can't believe they are hard to come by now... I bought mine new for £149...
Traded it in years ago for a really nice classical acoustic.
The neck on the supersonic was to die for ... superb !!!
