how they describe it, it seems like they were aiming at making new versions of the squier JVs.

The Desert Tan colour is pretty cool... but it would look HAWTZ in Fiesta Red with the gold guard!

Too bad it's only a 3 saddle bridge. That won't be enough to stop me from getting one of these babies, though.

I think Fiesta only looks good when it get old and turns into tomato soup red.

They should reissue the Squier 51, those are hard to find now and it would look good with the vintage tint neck and whatnot.

Looks very nice, although that bridge pickup is a bit of an eyesore for me now. The white plastic tuning pegs are bonertown though.

I'd be willing to bet it sounds better there. The middle pickup only position on a strat is always my favorite.

I'm not a fan of that sound, too much quack and not enough edge and spank.

And I just now realized how awesome they are for making a 24" scale neck with a maple fretboard. That would be sweet if they fit on the Japanese Jags and Mustangs.

they are not the same as the tuning pegs on a 65 RI mustang. the are the same tuning pegs that are on a pizzastangmaster II and a comptort stangRI

Actually if you look at the picture of the old one you see the bridge is slightly past the screw to its left while the new one is farther behind because squier being the stupid twats they are didn't think about pushing the saddles back just a bit to get the right intonation with the 24" scale. So if they had left it where it og. was it wouldn’t look weird.

Ok I'm actualy 70% sure that im wrong and that it is higher then the old ones which seems a strange thing for them to do.

ok. man, it took me a long time to understand what you were saying, heh. you're saying they moved the bridge to compensate for the 24" scale but didn't change the pickup location. it's really hard to tell but you may be right. you can't judge by the pickguard though as they are both different. this new one has the pickguard like a 90s duo sonic.

EDIT: hmm well, looking at them side by side they appear to be completely different in almost every way. still a cool guitar but I would consider less like a reissue and more like a 90s duo sonic... II.
