haha.. Nice one. I only have a Nokia N73 camera phone so unless I have high brightness in the room I'm fucked.

Hideous youtube layout aside his videos seem like a cool idea, some shootouts and stuff.

Shame no close micing but you still get the idea.

A real Big Cheese is the one pedal I truly covet.

They do look fuckin' cool.

I briefly considered putting it on one of these and painting it up, but it's mostly ABS with a thin aluminium faceplate- probably wouldn't take too well to stompin'.

Why would you covert it if you have a clone? It's gonna sound the same.

Love the Weezer songs man but can you get a Hendrix kinda sound out of it as well? Cause i am looking for a versatile fuzz pedal and most seem to do just about one sound.

I got an aluminum Hammond box that looks a heckuva' lot like the original for not-much-dough. SonicVI over at HCFX did it first & I copied him. ;)

Image

Going to have it powder coated at work. Should be pretty hawt.

Mark @ OLC got back at me this morning (very quick!) and they're going to get the missing parts sent out ASAP. Good stuff.

Yeah, he was very quick once I was in touch with him.

Name a track and I'll see how close it gets tonight- it may not get clean enough from what I know of Hendrix.

Might be worth looking at the Seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz- it has a 4-5 positon EQ shape dial and gets a little cleaner on the fuzz dial, if memory serves. Tried one out last year and thought it was pretty cool. It's a bit more of modern sounding fuzz though, you might just wanna go for a Fuzzface or Roger Mayer box for more authentic TONEZ.

Neat-o! You gonna put the dials in a line across the top? There's more of the flat section on the real thing:

I am torn though because i do love those pavement style fuzz tones which are cheese all the way, but i would also like to be able to clean it up a bit for a voodoo child, fire, foxy lady or purple haze sound.

Found SonicVI's one using the Hammond I was eyeballing thanks to your info:

Not sure I dig it, looks far too looooooooooong and weird.. kinda needs the footswitch a bit higher, and some different knobs in my eyes/opinion.

Ah well, horses for course, maybe the local electronics-craft shop will have something good in there this arvo.

Yeah, it's not perfect, but doesn't look quite as ackward in person. I've got my stomp switch mounted in the middle(ish) of the angled plane, knobs are laid out the same as SonicVI's. Not 100% sure what I'll use for knobs, but I do have some NOS Dakaware chickys like he used,. . .

Defo looks a little cooler with the stomper higher up, courtesy of some work-based MS Painting:

Although going from SonicVI's pics, it's fairly tight in there- have you had the pedal in this new box yet?

Yeah, I drilled & loaded the box a while back. Knobs are close but there is zero interference. Plenty of depth to put the board on risers behind the stomp & I want to use a 9V slider box instead of a clip & I think there is room for that as well. Only thing I'm not really digging on these boxes is the "vents". Totally unnecessary for a fuzz box & limits where you can mount jacks, etc. Guess it'd be cool for projects involving a vacuum tube. . .
