capri orange, maui blue, sahara taupe, monaco yellow, morocco red, cathay ebony, and i think a couple of sunbursts and maybe white.
you can tell them apart from others by the black pickup covers and knobs with the white pickguard. also, they were made in '81 but are often incorrectly dated as '79 due to fender serial numbers from 1979 to 1982 beginning with "S9".
i've seen a couple of teles in international colors and one p-bass. it stands to reason that jazz basses were included, but i've never seen one.
it'd be way cool to find a jazzmaster or mustang in an international color.

Thanks dude! I've seen a bunch of CIJ Fenders in Capri Orange, as well as a few Maui Blue guitars (other than the ones in this thread). I saw a green guitar that I thought I was told was an international colour... carribean green or something. I could just be creating false memories, though...

heh... just showing off!

my maui blue strat.

my sahara taupe tele (currently on ebay... or shoot me an offer!)
baseball bat necks. heavy but not TOO heavy. orgasmic stuff.
btw, i've noticed these intl' colors are quite hard to photograph, as they look quite different in different light. sometimes it's more like baby blue, sometimes it's just dark blue. they're all the same. same thing with the sahara taupe; sometimes it's light creme beige, sometimes it's chocolate/poop brown. etc.
Pat.

now that you mention it...
there's quite a lot of these intl' color series fenders here in mexico. story goes that one huge importer/business in mexico city was actually money laundering, and imported a huge amount of fenders in 80 and 81, as well as rhodes pianos and rodgers drums (all distributed by fender). when they caught the guy and send 'em to jail many of these instruments got stuck in the import office since no one paid the import tax for em. they finally got sold by the police or so.
BUT -and i SWEAR it's true- there's still a shop in mexico city with a bunch (around 20!) fenders on display that were NEVER sold!!! hangtags and all. and about 15 of them are intl' colors: mustang basses, bullets, strat, tele and a oh so delicious capri orange tele thinline, etc. - the guy sez he won't sell 'em - ever. SOMEDAY i'll walk in there with a case full o' moneys and get them all. *sigh*
next time i go there i'll try to snap some pics.
Pat.
ps. the rodgers drumsets and rhodes piano (55, 72 and 88 keys IIRC) are for sale. expensive but DEAD MINT. whoa!
