I think that when people hear a huge difference when they upgrade their plastic saddle and nut on a cheapo acoustic they it is partly because they are probably getting an upgrade in shape / fit.
That is, a really well cut plastic nut or saddle sounds fine. A cheap ass guitar might have a nut that is cut like crap, not helping things tone wise.
Now if I was going to choose, I'd go bone or brass over plastic, but that's 50% durability and 50% supposed tone in my reasoning.

Yes, I believe this thread should be split and moved to the Pub.
It should be call "St. Jimmy thinks 3D's a douchebag. 3D doesn't know who St. Jimmy is!"

I see his post count is high or whatever, but I've never had a single conversation with the dude. I guess he's got some sort of
man-crush on me, though....
About Aug knowing him..... Well, that's not exactly fair. Aug knew everyone. Aug's met most of the guys that have been on shortscale or jag-stang that are in SoCal. No one spent more time on here then Aug. (except for maybe Shawdow or mike). I've only spent a fraction of the time that he spent on here.
