Srry bout being anal about the "orange" color, but yeah, fiesta red. U made me think they came out with a comp orange mustang bass. Yeah, we're gear snobs... but hey! it is a guitar forum

It looks lovely though, I'm jealous! If it were mine, I'd get a mint pickguard- the color goes so well with fiesta red!

I'm afraid that my shortscale bass collection is going to grow as large as Fredo's guitar collection. I gots 3 so far, but I want a real Fender musicmaster bass and a competition ocean turquoise Mustang bass like the one Robroe posted- I'm looking out for it! Then I'd switch the pickguard to brown tort or cream pearloid.

I've always found that the Japanese version of Fiesta Red to be much more orange than what you see on American guitars, so I can understand the confusion about the colour.

i did in fact own one. and yes it's fiesta red. though to my eyes it definitely felt more orange than anything else. i wasn't really impressed with it, truth to be told. but it was fun to fart around on it some...the neck is funky to me. too thin.

i love the neck the shortness and size. its fatter than my jaguar bass. i adore the jaguar bass neck only thing that would make it better if it was shortscale. shortscale jaguar bass im down with that! cmon fender!!

Kinda weird, when you think about it, that Fender made the Jaguar bass full scale, considering that the Jag guitar's most famous attribute is its short scale.

I've thought about this plenty a times too, but decided that maybe Fender simply decided a shortscale neck would not be a selling point. The two most common basses are the fullscale P and Jazz basses. Mustang bass and Musicmaster are fricking awesome, just most people prefer full scale for the full bass sound. My heart is where the Mustang shortscale bass is though. Jaguar bass looks really attractive, especially with it's chrome plates and body shape, but I enjoy the Mustang more because the neck feels so comfortable, it's lightweight, sounds great, and is a real easy transition instrument if you're switching from guitar to bass.
