Vibrato bar/trem arm?
Everytime someone says something insane, I think I've missed something and they're just referencing it. Doog lol'd at it, for the same reason we are, cause it's weird? Or because MascisFan'97 or Hole In The Donut or some other dumbnamed poster was asking where to direct his father towards buying him a "stang reverb handle" in a seperate thread?

you don't need to lock this fucking thing down.
just take the bar out. mine NEVER goes out of tune. the 65 even has the bigger saddles so it doesn't buzz either
Seriously Mike, listen to this man. Just take the arm out and then you can still do subtle vibrato just by using your hand on the tailpiece...My Jag-stang and Mustang never went out of tune - ever.

OK, I'll see how it plays with these 11s after they get bedded in. Last night it was seeming pretty stable.
I'm going to switch up to D'addarios EXL145 Heavy gauge 12s next string change. If I'm dissatisfied with the tuning stability then, I'll sort it then. I am noticing some buzzing but I'm unsure where it's from and it's not audible through the amp so I really don't care.
Cheers for all the replies guys. Surely this should be a wiki topic with pictures and that?

A couple of months back, for the sake of lulz somebody posted a link to an ebay auction from some total tool who wanted $10,000 for a mustang. The seller referred to the tremolo bar as a "reverb handle", many jokes ensued, and there was much rejoicing.

I cut 4 pieces of wood (2 long, 2 really small) to fill the routed out part in the body, but left just enough space for the trem to sit down inside and not move. Works great.

Mike, ignore the haters, lock that bitch, you'll be happier!!! Mine's been locked since I found out you could do such a thing.

I'll probably get some washers in and do it when I switch the strings to D'addario 12's. I doubt I can be rigged to do it until then

I hope the washers are hidden under the trem and not visable. That shit sounds like rigged up non-sense. Aug

Eh?
I don't think washers would look bad on top?

+1. I locked down the trem on Amy's Stang that looks exactly like the one here. Locking down trems FTW, tuning stability is much improved.

Seriously. You don't need to lock the trem. Just tightening it down and go away at it. I'm on 11 or 12s with my Mustang and it is never out of tune

Oh, wait that's what I did, I just tightened it up so the tail was against the plate and that's all I had to do. I didn't add anything to it. Just tighten it.
