I'm so glad you're making pedals. Now I have someone to talk to about this shit.
Euan never build anything, he just talks about it

The hardest bit now is deciding what to build next. I might hold off on the fuzz factory and order a load of parts for 2-4 more pedals, and get the extra resistor for the FF when I do that. I'll possibly wire two 100k ones in series as a temporary fix and end up leaving it there.
All of the ones I'm doing now are some form of dirt. Part of the problem is I want to build lots of things but I don't actually need them and I don't think they're well made enough to sell.

Get some breadboard, then you can prototype stuff and build want you really like into pedals.

I have some already I just don't know how to use it. I'mgoing to do these ones just to convince myself I can actually do it and then I'll be more picky about what I actually build.I suppose other than the odd IC chip most things use a lot of the same components so I should just stock up on the common stuff and go from there. I already have 6 spare 2n3904 transistors just because so many things seem to use them and judging from the mammoth they sound good.
Actually what I should do is start designing stuff. It'll obviously be loosely (read: almost entirely) based on other pedals to begin with, but it's got to be the way to have the most fun with this.

You don't know how to use breadboard?
The tracks are connected horiztontally except for the gaps, whichyou can jumper, for the power rails for example.
Design? Go for it. I'm too lazy. I design stripboard layouts, that shit is complicated enough

I suppose what I mean is I need to learn a bit about circuit diagrams and following the flow of components (to use a vero layout to do it) in order to actually get everything on the breadboard in the right place.

I maded the fuzz factory mock up that I posted earlier, but i don't have AC128's, so I used 2N3906 until I can find some AC128's, I'm not sure what they would do in place of what I used. I also didn't have a 5K resistor so I used a 4.7k, It works!!!! Sounds nice and fuzzy, I couldn't find any short shaft pots so I'll have to cut these off with my dremel, I'll start on the bullshit plastic housing tomorrow, I ran out of solder.
![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
or I'd put it all together tonight.
My etching of the board turned out bad, so I made sure not to trust the copper that was there and made everything touch, so it looks a bit sloppy, and I don't care. It works, and I'm not Mike/Aen. Sorry for the highjack James, just thought I'd share how mine turned out, and we can compair tonez.

PTP baby. Nicely done indeed.

Anyone know if it would be worth swapping out the 2N3906's with AC128 GERMANIUMs? What kind of change in tonez/sondz would it have?

The Germaniums will sound better, more full and less fizzy. But it's up to you, if you like it how it is then leave it. If you're getting AC128s get matched "Fuzz Face" set.

Yassss Cowbell. You did the Sharpie method. It can be quite successful if you are patient and do your tracks big enough. If I had a laser printer I would be rocking the PNP Blue all the time. But I do work with laser printers. I should.
I'm just too lazy to do anything really I guess.

You are. You need to do more, I know you have the skills.
This PCB layout is actually larger than Veroboard, plus I couldn't handle doing the drilling of the board. I like stripboard, it's perfect for what I do.

I know, I know.
I want a FF and a Wooly Mammoth. I'll do a Banzai or Small Bear Order next month I guess. I want to get them both Zvex style though.

Just fucking build them and save yourself literally hundreds. A Woolly Mammoth is £229 for fuck's sake.

The only reason I own Zvex pedal is because I got the SHO for so cheap from Dolphin.
Oh, have you gotten a bunch of random magazines in the post lately? I got one that is sponsered by Dolphin Music and the other is some random metal magazine.

This suggests you want to buy the originals, which is frankly barmy.

Get them in the box Zvex style I mean obviously. I'm some kind of retard equally obviously.
I would call them the Mutton Factory and Wooly Lamb I think.

Oh fair play.
When I made them I managed to fit them in. With some more planning I could have left room for batteries too, but FUCK batteries.
