ultraviolence, can you take a picture of those offending tuning pegs? If you're only getting two winds on the g and high e strings, you're doing it wrong. When you re-string, line up the hole in the tuning peg parallel to the nut. Then pull the new string taut against the inside of the tuning peg, and wind the string around two or three full turns before you stick it through the hole going from the outside of the headstock to the inside. Pull real hard, then bend the string against the hole so the string is now at a 90 degree angle. Then tune it up. Then stretch the string. Then tune it again. Then stretch the string. Then tune it again. Then clip the loose end of the string a little bit past where you made the right angle bend. Do that, and it should be nice and stable.

can't take pictures, don't got a camera, don't have money to buy new strings at the moment either, thanks for your help though

new strings? it takes a while to work the strings in so they stop streching and will hold a tune. when you put on a new set of strings you should spend about 15 minutes bending each string from the 12th fret and up.

none of this block crap is necessary, look at the picture, all you have to do is tighten those two screws that the spring claw are attatched to until the bridge sits flat.

NO one here is insinuating that it's a setup rather than a bridge problem?

Have the nut cut properly etc. and you can have a trem that works fine.
