Hollow or solid? Did you go through with it?
i was having a hard time keeping contact with him, seems he didn't want to talk anything until he had the payment all lined up so trying to get specifics was a bit hard. i was going to go with a hollow neck, but then the project fell through, now i have like 4 block necks coming in, so i doubt i'll need an aluminum neck any time soon.

so what is the deal with that pickup? only info i could find with a quick search led me to some bass pickups.

Don't know, haven't the slightest idea.

Hmmm... it might be the same guy who made the neck for the aluminum Strat, then, too. All I know about whoever it is that makes the aluminum necks is that they're very fussy and hard to get a hold of I guess...

As for the pickup - http://www.q-tuner.com/ - Supposedly the best pickups ever so I thought I'd try one out.

Yeah, so I'll be taking out the chrome control plates and adding a CHROME NECK!!!

Also, I figure I might as well go all out so I just ordered the Hexpander/Acousticphonic piggy-back setup with all the extras - http://www.graphtech.com/products.html? ... rrencyID=2 .

Here's a schematic of the whole fucking thing - http://www.graphtech.com/fckeditor/user ... K-0680.pdf .

Boo urns, I sent off all of my questions before work this afternoon, but didn't ask for his address because I want him to answer those questions first. :x

Alternately, I saw a neck from a Redburst JGS-86 on eBay like two years ago, and if I could get one of those instead of having an aluminum neck made, I wouldn't even worry about it.

Or maybe fuck the whole aluminum neck thing, I'll wait around till I see the next 9.85" radius Jaguar HH neck on eBay.

Alternately, fuck, I'm thinking of selling the Jaguar OCR HH I've been modelling all of this off of, then sell the OCR body, and buy a Gunmetal Redburst JGS-86 straight up and throw all of the hexpander/q-tuner stuff into that...

I wish I wasn't so neurotic. :?

Wow, this is a project. You must hit some sound samples up when this is complete Handen. I really want this to have the ally neck.

I'll see what I can do for sound-samples once I've got my rig set up. After the guitar's set up I'll need something like the Axon AX-100mkII, AX-50 or Roland GI-20 to control MIDI parameters in Logic, and Ableton later on.

Plus, in GP Magazine I saw this:

http://www.sourceaudio.net/products/hot ... di_exp.php

I don't know a whole lot about MIDI but I figure I will soon. :D

I honestly had no idea I had any impact on this place lol. Except for havin' sweet geets. 8)

Edit: Also today I ordered a bunch of small things like pickguard screws, string trees, metric stop-tail lugs (not in cosmo black like everything else but whatever who cares) and the 9v battery harness/template from StewMac.

Now it's official, all I need is the neck. (and also a 9v battery) But the aluminum neck guy is like on vacation or something he's not replying to me. :/

Bailey says $425 for a hollow Jaguar neck. So I asked a few more questions like, will the fretboard fall off, will the dot inlays fall into the neck, what's your guarantee if anything bad happens, if a horse walks into a bar, what does the bartender say, but I forgot to ask what he makes his nuts out of.

Bone would be preferred... Or hell if he wants to do an aluminum nut that'd be cool too, as long as it's replaceable with a bone nut if I don't like it.

Hell yeah. Well, actually, not for a while. I'm gonna buy and hook it up to an Axon AX-50 or AX-100 mk-II firstly and use it as a MIDI controller, then afterwards I'll go buy a nice audio interface and some mics so you can hear it through my Ampeg VT-22, but first and foremost I want to have the MIDI bits up and running. :)

Also I'm expecting the custom made pickguard to arrive in the next day or two, Dazbootman sent it off Sept 15th so it should be getting close. If I don't like how the black looks I'm gonna have to find a place that sells a nice tortoiseshell blank to send to him. His suppliers didn't have tort so I had to go with black...

that is going to be awesome

i saw some tort shell blank guards at a shop in red deer the last time i was there, mind you that is still a 7 hour drive for you
all i can find here are b/w/b or w/b/w.

however if i stumble upon one i'll snake it and toss it down your way.

That'd be awesome! I have no idea where I'd even start to look for pickguard material here or in Calgary even... But I'm looking for the real expensive looking tort, y'know the kind? Not just printed onto the top, but actual flecks of yellow and orange in the red. There are so many kinds of shitty Tort that I DON'T want, that it'll be hard to find what I do. Also it's gotta be I think 10x30" to fit the entire guard. If you see anything though, let me know for sure.

I'm still waiting for the GHOST preamps in the mail, and then once it's all set up I'll still have to order the Axon but yeah, I could do that.

I also forgot I should order a stack pot for volume/tone on the bridge pickup, a stack knob, a nice tone cap, and two other knobs for the MIDI/acoustic controls. I'll do that friday.

i just ordered 2 blanks off ebay, but not tort. the thing is with tort, i could see why you wouldn't want to buy online, it's pretty hard to tell the quality when it is a shitty ebay photo.
