Meh, Fender figured out another way to re-package the Tele. Truth told, Fender has four guitars, and shit for color choices. I'm really let down with my favorite brand as of late.

Yay, another version of black which they offer every guitar they have in black, except the Mustang. Fender doesn't need a way to say, "Hey we mixed up these parts to give you a revolutionary new guitar that is really rehash of the same crap out there." They need to do things like offer any damn color you want on any guitar (barring special finishes, like Dick Dale or J Myasskiss. Fuck, I want a daphne blue Jazzy, but Fender says, Custom Shop.

Dunno what to make of this. I think I like it, except for the bridge. What's the story with the fretboard? Fenders don't usually have the fretboard slab extending past where the neck ends, do they? It sort of reminds me of an Ibanez or something. Also, what's the board made of? Looks rather dark to me, could be ebony.

Yeah they do. They have a floating fret on the US Standard Strat for example.

Right 'nuff? Didn't know that. It's one of those daft aesthetic things that would put me off a bit. I like a neck to be a solid bit of wood, right up to the end.

Bwahahaha! He's rocking that signature tele on Yo Gabba Gabba RIGHT NOW.
Can you walk into a music store this afternoon, and say "I'd like a DB Jazzy." and leave with one?
I don't wantto order one from Wildwood, which btw is in my my mind the same as Custom Shop (special order, higher price, blah blah). I want to walk in and buy my Jazzy the same way I bought my Strat and Tele, and most of the guitars I own. Sit down, play it, see the color in real life, see how it feels. Not point click and hope. maybe I decide that DB doesn't looks as good to me as the FR on the wall. Maybe they have some other color from the Fender Color Chart that might look great in person. Maybe I never thought of a Cherryburst Jazzy and think it looks good because I can see one.
Plus those Wildwoods suck to me because they are all '62 spec with tiny fret wire. I like my Strat because it's modern spec which is better feeling in my hands. So I can get color and shape on a guitar that I otherwise do not want. Boo urns.

Your opinion is null and void.

And I walked into the store, saw that Antigua Tele hanging, looked at it held it and played it and walked out the store with it in my hands.

they're not, though. they put medium jumbo frets and a 9.5" radius on them.

Wildwood Guitars wrote:Introducing the American Vintage Series "Thin Skin Nitro" Special Lacquer Series:
Featuring lightweight bodies, a "Thin Skin" nitrocellulose lacquer finish (just like the Custom Shop does it), and 6105 fret wire, these instruments have all the vintage look and feel you've come to expect from Fender's American Vintage Series, plus the singing sustain and chime you get with taller, wider fret wire and a nitro finish.
6105 = Tall & Narrow
6130 = Medium Jumbo
Need I mention that they are pulling thier shit from a 46 year old spec?

Try to get a Modern "C" with rolled edges on a Jazzy. They'll look at you like you just shot their dog.
