tdpri.com? They don't let you swear in audio demos there.James wrote:My understanding of it is he's a guy from that Tele forum, and posted at offset to see if there was any interest. People in the thread liked it, he put them up for sale and nobody has posted in the thread. I might have a look for the tele forum posts in a bit.

He's such a charmer. I saw his amp is overheating, this filthy Fender clone he has.James wrote:He also started a new refin project immediately after the rob(og) fiasco.Mike wrote:Fucking hell, Tribi is active there. Sort your life out Hurb

I liked the justification "the Fender decal suits the refin better" or something like that.Mike wrote:http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/ind ... 18.60.html

There are some good threads there. I joined when I got my Bassman I think and I learnt a lot from one poster there. A few guys have interesting pedal collections and make interesting threads about them.Mike wrote:Yeah I just saw your reply. I never knew so many of you idiots posted there.
I can't stand the constant "It's so hot!" posts.
There are a few things that are terrible about the place though
- Ban happy
- The 'acceptable taste' is extremley limited. Almost all amp posts are about large old Fender combos. Humbuckers are a no go unless they're WR types

- Most of the guys there are idiots.

I remember you linking me to that thread and I was definitely impressed by the help and knowledge that guy displayed. It's nowhere near enough the punt I would need to post there though, I would be rooted out like a cat, most of their posters annoy the tits off me.James wrote:There are some good threads there. I go there perhaps every few days and I certainly don't open most threads. On the whole it's fairly dull, but the odd gem makes it worthwhile having an account there.Mike wrote:I remember you linking me to that thread and I was definitely impressed by the help and knowledge that guy displayed. If you get banned for this...They will pay dearly.Hurb wrote:I posted...I am probably banned man walking now.I am not a manufacturer or pickup builder
We have come up with a
We remove the
Our alnico V magnets
We’re offering these
That all sounds very manufacturer like to me.
I really tried hard not to post in this thread as I don't like causing any upset around here...but this is utterly ridiculous and I really think this guy is ripping people off if they fall for this ultimate tone mojo hoohaa.
First off if you want to make an exact copy then do so, try using the right CuNiFe magnets for a start. adjustment screws that you can not adjust? come on!!
I hope that people realise that what is happening is this guy is putting a reasonable quality humbucker under your cover..and then charging the earth for it. You could do that yourself and probably not ruin the chrome like he says SOMETIMES happens.
Again apologies to offset for bringing this up, but I do so in the hope that people don't send this guy money because they want that ultimate tone! I can't sit and watch people try and rip others off in what is a very strong community.
I'm sure people here are smart enough anyway, but I had to voice my opinions.
He posted it with the username "shortscale". I wouldn't be surprised if that was enough for the ban button to get clicked.More Cowbell wrote:If you get banned for this...They will pay dearly.Hurb wrote:I posted...I am probably banned man walking now.I am not a manufacturer or pickup builder

There'll be some crying and accusations of us being childish there soon I bets. Sigh. It's shite, Fullerplast is sound, but the rest of their posters are fucking dolts.

Thetaman (can't find the actual theta symbol on the keyboard) is a god amongst men, we should bung him an invite over here. Odd place, offsetguitars; there are some nice people there, but it can be terribly corksnifffery and clique-y, which is ironically what caused the schism from the FDP in the first place. On the other hand, I like TDPRI a lot, but wasn't aware of their rules regarding sailor talk in demos.James wrote:There are some good threads there. Oh, and Hurb, I reckon that was a pretty darn diplomatic post of yours, for what it's worth.
