Zaphod wrote:Yep, locked down the trem shouldn't work. If you don't use the trem at all it might be an option, look into buying some extra trem springs.
uhhhh...are they easy to install, and inexpensive to buy?

I bought a couple for next to nothing. Guitar shops will probably have some laying around if you ask.
Theres a little bit of a knack to installing them (I found) but it's not hard.

theyre real cheap, probably $5 bucks for 5.
LANK
theyre not hard to install. the way i do it is as follows:
1. put pointy end in the hole near where you put strings in.
2. use another spring's pointy end to pull the looped end toward the claw.
3. pull it until you can attach the loop over the claw.
it might be easier to unscrew the claw a bit before doing this.

i love my jagmasters
i have 2 they both are sweet
i rotate my guitars(jazzmaster, jaguar, 2 jagmasters) and look forward to the jagmasters just as much

extra strings keep the trem from moving when/if you do crazy-ass bends. it helps to stabilize the trem and such.

I had a CAR 25.5" jagmaster I bought from some douche on the jag-stang.com classifieds for $125 shipped. The dude kept my money for a good 4 weeks (made me pay by money order) then finally shipped the thing separated from the neck in the same box with NO packing materials to keep the two from knocking into each other the whole trip. Then when I emailed him pics he just said "what the fuck did you do to it?". It was one of those times you really really really want to take advantage of knowing a dude like this' address but end up having to be the bigger man and hope karma will sort itself out.
I sold it on ebay within 2 days with a $100 BIN. It's too bad because I liked the guitar in spite of the fact that it had gouges and missing paint everywhere.

I really want to make this jagmaster:
it really wouldn't be hard to do. and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need to route anything since the jagmaster body is already routed out like whoa.

I have a "Crafted in PRC" Jagmaster II made a few years ago, and I love it. It was my first guitar.
This winter, I'm planning some major upgrades: new crunchy PAF-type GFS pickups, new push/pull pots, a new 3-way switch & jack, and new wiring & shielding. I also want to fill in the trem cavity permanently with some hardwood. Oh, and I want to replace the knobs with black Fender-style Jazz bass knobs like the ones on the Tiny Terror.
I'm having a hard time finding a decent replacement bridge so I may stick with the original one. I love to add some kind of intonable wraparound bridge, but I can't find one with a 9.5" radius -- they only seem to be made for 12" radius fretboards. Oh well.

I have plans to eventually get a mahogony Jagmaster body and painit it black. Load it up with two Bare Knuckle Pickups War Pigs and a Floyd Rose (black, obviously). I have a neck that'll fit, and is reversed headstock (wooo). I want Jaguar style chrome control plates, and a black paisley pickguard.
Then I can rock the fuck out of metal on it, and probably put my back out with such a heft of mahogony as that guitar would need.

oh, cool. I was just gonna keep it simple and leave the trem alone though.
