Right, I've been buggering about for a while and I think I've found the bad valve. Both channels are working properly now :D Also noticed for the first time (weirdly, as I've often had a look about inside the amp) that the stock EL84s are made by EHX. Cheers, Mike! :D I'll give it a couple of days and several plays before I definitely say it's right, but if so after that what'd you want doing with the other valve you sent me, Mike?

Arf :( I turned it back on and there was just a really loud HHNNNNNGGGGGGHHH noise with no response with the guitar like last time. It's done that before, but after a few on and offs it's been back to normal, but after a few on and offs it won't go away ;/ Back to square one.

It's in warranty. You need to get that look at.

Arf :( Fucksticks. I'll keep playing with those valves to make sure, and when I go home next I'll sort out warrenty info.

Fuck's sake. I've just put all the stock valves back in and it's working like normal again :( Yeah, I think it needs a proper look at.

Edit; no it's back to humming, but on one channel :/ channel 2 is fine now. I think the next step before warranty would be just to replace all the pre-amp valves?

Just find the customer support number. Tell them that it's not working properly and that you want it fixed.
From my experiences (not with amps tho) they will usually just send you a new unit instead of making you wait for repairs.
Other times they will tell you to take it to an authorized service place to have it fixed and the bill will be sent to the company.
