i KNOW and i don't particularly like the tape. but the original tort guard has shrunk too much, it just won't fit anymore.
so now BOTH these guitars have non-fitting MIJ guards on them. that's why the tape is there.

i've already got an AVRI tort guard on the way for the Jag but i still need one for the Jazzmaster. i kinda like the green/white, though.

been strumming the guitar a bit and MAN i really like how it feels. haven't had a jag in years now. hopefully in 48 hours i'll have her up and running again...
