INCOMING

I have several projects going right now, so it's hard to keep them updated.
I got a piece of mahogany for the patch (with an extra foot of board). It's not the perfect color or grain, but it's mahogany, and it was so tight I could almost get away without wood glue. Since they routed where the bridge needs to anchor, I had to make sure it was plenty strong. Here is is with that patch. I have since sanded it some more and put some epoxy in the jack hole to reinforce it. The jack goes out the cavity through the side and was a little gaping for my taste (like throwing a cat down the hallway). I couldn't find my last bit of two part epoxy putty and then it occurred to me that I just bought TEN POUNDS of Magic Sculp for cartooning/toymaking and it's: wait for it--two part epoxy putty. So instead of being miserly with it, I loaded the jack hole and will drill a smaller pass-through once it dries.
Since it's patched, I don't expect it to ever be exposed mahogany again. I bought all Gretsch brand parts and a real Bigsby. It's not my style to rout for more pickups. I have other guitars with more pups if I need MOAR power. The next pics probably won't be until it's got primer on it, so I am waiting for sunny days next month or so. By then I may be ready to shoot gold on the Gibson, an orange Malikaster, and a maybe a Fiesta Mando. Meanwhile I have to sort out the 63 Rick.

Yell Like Hell
Beautiful, that's how all strats should look. Class A work, how heavy is it compared to a standard strat?DGNR8 wrote:I put up some new guitar hooks because I have enough that are just lounging around that I needed to get them the hell out of the way. Look at the size difference between the Rick and the Strat. New people on the board may not have seen any of these guitars yet.
