My Mustang is certainly my most bassy guitar, its got a nice clunk to it. My only complaint is that it lacks the attack of a maple necked guitar and if I could I would change the neck for one. Just ain't going to happen unfortunately.
TGD loves it though big time though more than my other guitars.

Choices are limited. Its that, or the CIJ Jag or the Omar signature guitar.

i played a mim jag a couple days ago and i REALLY enjoyed it. the first jaguar i played was pre-CBS so it was old and had every rattle you could think of so it wasnt as great as i thought it would be but playing the new one really brought back the love i have for these guitars. I'll be ordering one soon

I played a mim hh jag, and was not sold by its play-abillity. IT was an okay guitar, but it didnt feel like it was worth the 800 usd guitar center wanted. However, just to compair it to another mim guitar for 600 usd, the tele deluxe they had there played like butter. I may have just played a lemon of a mim hh jaguar, but every tele deluxe I've played has been awesome.
p.s. That jaguar looks+sounds awesome. Therefore, you're jaguar is awesome.

i've been considering getting some bare knuckles for my 69 but then never did it and sorta let it go you know, to me the 69 is a fine guitar, i like its feel and i'm not refined enough to be bothered by the fact it 'could be better' with other wood, another bridge etc, i'm real curious about those 65's though and wish i could play a lefty somewhere so i could judge for myself because i just read and hear things now but you know how it goes with opinions and personal preferences eh.
dakota red mustang = sexy
When I'm not playing mine, i'm looking at it :p

yes i can imagine. when mine first arrived years ago it stood in the middle of my room next to my bed for over a week and i kept turning on the light at night to just stare at it. lol but it's sonic blue. dakota red is fender's prettiest red imo. CAR second but on jags.

Hahaha, I've done the same with basically every guitar I've bought, the jag moreso though.
It's such a guitar-nerdy thing to do haha.

I used to have it as a pic of my jazzy, it's been a picture from explosions at ATP since april though.

ok i went to the guitarstore toma today because i was told there was a 65 ri stang there, daphne blue, pearly guard, like the one mike has/had (?)
price was 860eur or so, i forgot. i had never seen one of these 65's irl
.
what struck me (on first sight) was the silly space between the pg and control plate and bridge, it looked like a bad fitting pg haha. i played it upside down, neck felt pretty much the same as on my 69, i didn't play long because i didn't have much time, played it through a tt combo and biggest diff (well to my ruined ears anyway) is that it's less bassy (both pu's on) like mentioned here, i think the pickups sounded like you would take away the pillow between pickup and strings on a 69 ? i didn't play with distortion or fuzz on it but i think the almost humbucking low i get out of my 69 (both pu's on) isn't there on the 65 ? i still don't know because i didn't have time to actually do that, might go back sometime. still shit they don't make the 65's lefty though, i would soooo be longing for a dakota red otherwise, well until i would actually come back to the reality i can't afford.
also .. i love how glossy japanese fenders are, they always feel so broken in when you play them, like you've been playing it for years.
