/puts offer in for £351

Seriously though, I still think it's a pretty good deal at £400. I'm surprised it's not gone. And that Musicmaster is seriously nice ...

one good thing about the expensive dollar is, less US$ is more MX pesos. heh heh

well yeah... sorry. must take advantage of the high dollar here. less is more. or the other way round.
this would be my 5th vintage offset in a MONTH, indeed.

but i only paid for like 2 of them. the others were trades, etc.

i've got more than enough guitars to be getting on with at the moment or i'd have bought it at that price without a second thought. but for once, i'll give someone else a chance. but the fact that no-one else has bought it yet makes me think that they DON'T DESERVE THAT CHANCE!!

So what's the deal with Bronco trems? Wikipedia indicated that they were the worst trems ever designed by Fender.

I'm not sure how true that is. Fender have a pretty good history with trem design though, so it's a bit of a null statement.

Strat
Jag/Jazzmaster
Mustang

Can't really argue with those. I've never played a Bronco but I've heard the trem is pretty good. I don't really see them designing a melon after having a good run before. It's going to be based on the same ideas and if it wasn't not up to scratch they could have just one an existing one that is.

True & it was Wikipedia that said it. I figured someone here would know the truth.

The unique tremolo arm was Leo Fender's fourth and least popular design, and appeared only on the Bronco. It is sometimes unofficially known as the Fender steel vibrato, and colloquially as the Bronco trem. It has its admirers, but only few guitarists, such as Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, use it as their main guitar.
The thing with that is the other three are massively popular. The strat trem is obviously way out in front, but the other two have their fans for sure. Most of the reason it's the least popular is it's also very unavailable. Broncos aren't all over the place and no other guitar uses the trem. A lot have lost trem arms (i dont think theres a direct replacement) or a replaced bridge or whatever.

I wouldn't think badly of it because of that. There have been lots of posts about the bridge over the years, probably not all are here due to crashes and what not, but you might find a bit through the search. I think the people here who have one like the trem though.
