going back to the neck feel james, the new reissue is based on the 50s neck, so it's thinner, which to me, is not as comfortable. i'd say pick one of these up if you can, well worth it.

Sounds good rob. Some early Juniors had really 'clubby' necks, personally i dont like them.
You know... i'd love to hear you demo this dude, i gotta hear that P90 with your magic fingers. Dew It!! :D

I'm just glad you're a lefty so we won't be bidding against each other should one of those pop up on ebay.

There have been a lot of lefty GSs on ebay recently, I keep wanting to PM you links but I know they'll just be teasing you rather than of actual use.

I know. I have an ebay search saved emailing me every day. I've bid on quite a few GS guitars this year but not one any of them.

i just might do that soon, the bad monkey has that mixer out on it. any one used it this way?

i haven't really got the stuff to mike up the tweed properly, so might use this for temporary. i think the p90 is my pickup of choice, just that nice mix of grit and depth.

I played one of those axes, then realized that P90s almost didn't suck. Especially under heavy distortion.

I also was very much not impressed by the complete lack of grain filler or clearcoat. But Gibson tells me that "character" and "mojo" have been redefined to something about how much money you can save on paint, and that all guitars look that way after a while, and who am I to argue. 8)

Seriously though, good buy. Surf green.

That's a hot color, is it actually like that, or was that the camera. Because I dig it.

it's kinda like a faded cherry colour, but a bit browner. you can see and feel the grain of the wood. i think it'll age nicely.

it's just so playable. i keep picking up every five minutes!!! i think it could possibly knock the strat of main guitar position. i like the stripped down feel, makes me think about what i'm playing than what i'm fiddling around with.

Morning Euan - sorry mate, was just popping on.

Rob, I know just what you mean - when I got my Edwards Jr., it made for a great "year zero" guitar. Try it with a treble booster as well.
