Two billion year old swamp ash, aged in a golden cask. And I can say this as an ex Grifter owner.Fran wrote:Ply or chipboard?benecol wrote:Aye, usually, but I believe this is a solid body.Fran wrote:Are'nt they made out of paper mache?
The trem is kinda interesting, it looks like its been made from an old Raleigh Grifter mudguard. Kool.
Masonite panels glued to either a poplar or pine frame. Some sites say it's stapled, but that's total BS as you can see glue when you take them apart.benecol wrote:Two billion year old swamp ash, aged in a golden cask. They're bloody brilliant guitars. The newer reissues felt a bit too much like a "proper" guitar in regards to the weight and build quality, but I guess that's to make them appealing to non-fans. But these new ones should be solid bodies as they're reissues of the Coral Hornet (I think, can't really remember).Fran wrote:Ply or chipboard?benecol wrote:Aye, usually, but I believe this is a solid body.Fran wrote:Are'nt they made out of paper mache?

Its easy to put contours on MDF or Ply bodies, as long as you dont go for transparent finishes your fine.benecol wrote:But this one's got contours - I reckon it's solid.
I'm the opposite. The more I see them the more the control area looks a mess.Mike wrote:I like these the more I see of them, interestingly.
