That's the one. I knew they had some sort of catchy name for it too.

That website talks shite about temperament.

the fan fret intrument are more "in tune" that a normal onc, and the "stupid looking" necks are the ones that are just about perfect.

I think it's probably a good idea, however:

this annoys me. I've read Lehmann's article and I can say that whilst it's a nice piece of fancy, it's probably balls, and is certainly very imaginative (made up). I think that this is a bit cheap, the way that they're trying to attach the name of JS Bach to a guitar neck where his name really, really shouldn't be. Lehmann's article and his research, whilst it apparently yields some nice results with regards temperament, is based entirely on cenjecture and has absolutely no evidence, other than the fact that he managed to fluke a good sounding temperament out if it.

Woah! Looks like it's been through the photoshop liquify filter ... Very strange. How would you get that refretted?

Those frets make this old man dizzy

Yeah, it's all done my machine, which is dissappointing. I was under the impression that each neck is hand made and fretted according to the piece of wood. That's not the case.

Would that wonky fretboard with the accureate intonation only work properly with a certain guage of strings? I imagine there will be an overall improvement but it's made for a certain guage. If they did it for 9s they're blues wankers and I want no part of it.

What on earth is tang?

Tang? did you read Robert's post? it's the bit of the fret that bites the wood.

I would have thought that those necks would have to be done for one specific setup, but who knows.

i think that for the most part it is an overal improvement BUT! it would absolutely cause problems if you tuned you gear like aen or sy.
i actually just remember playing a bass at a music store called "folk music" or something to that effect, but anyway.
the low e and b strings were fretted on the same fret, but the d and g were fretted on a different fret that was at a slight slant.
i wish i could remember who made it but it was all hand made, fantastic design wise but the overal body was ugly as hell.
