Back in the day eh?
Hank was god, he inspired a million guitarists including Mark Knopfler and Richie Blackmore. 8)

apache was one of the first solos i learned.

i forgot about his strat, i shall have to sort out my list:
white + white + maple
white/black + tort + rosewood
blonde + black/white + maple
fiseta + white + maple
sunburst + black + rosewood (i can't help it)

turns out i like quite a few strats, gah.

I saw times new viking open for deerhunter, they were rad actually. the crowd sucked though and didn't get their fun poppy music. there's a law in seattle that venue employees cannot consume alchohol and this includes performers so he kept running off the stage between songs and drinking a beer, haha.

ive seen deerhunter too! unfortunately the bass was way too fucking loud and i could hardly hear anything else. brittany got some great shots though.

hes pretty amazing. saw him again a year later as atlas sound, also good. better, as no too loud bassist.

and just for fun, wata, who is so hot.

she got alot of good ones of wata.

anyway, this isnt the point of this thread. sorry.

to bring it back around, TNV to me is the white strat/maple fretboard band. fuck a jimi hendrix.

There's a little ding in the pickguard. :( Couldn't see it with the protective plastic on, so only saw it when I peeled it off this morning. Bit annoying. Can't be arsed with changing the guitar (not even sure if I'd be entitled to do so) so I'll be browsing ebay for a replacement pickguard I reckon.

A little ding and you're going to change the guard? How little are we talking?

Yeah my post about looking for a replacement was a bit premature really. It's not massive - a couple of millimetres across maybe. I guess I'm just annoyed that my shiny pristine guitar isn't 100% pristine.

I worked with a guy who now works in Peter Cooks... it may have even been him who sold it to you... guy called Rob ?

anyways, the guitar looks very nice. Best colourway for a strat !!

It did its job at least **happy**

Nah I know what you mean about it, if you buy something new new you want/expect it to be absolutely pristine, especially after being kept in that nice case and that.

Shit is going to happen. When I got my les paul I told myself I'd keep it in nearly unplayed condition for as long as I possibly could, but before I knew it there's a pinpoint ding on the bottom of the lower horn, a small mark on the headstock, etc etc. Not to mention the forearm area is already starting to wear through the nitro.

It's alright to be paranoid about stuff but a mark on a pickguard is kind of like driving a car off the lot and noticing a bug on the windshield.

Play it.

That scratchplate should be covered in plectrum scrapes.

I exchanged a few emails with Rob prior to going there in person. Pretty sure I must have spoken to him, as I was chatting to everyone who was working in there at some stage or another.
