Rebuttal to Benecol, my drummer is a pretty crazy guy, he has gone to practice naked, in a dress, and he always does idiotic stuff in public. But he has been my best friend since 5th grade.
And for malik, these where a joke kinda, cause he wanted to do them, and we are coming up with more ideas.

That's as maybe, but that's a bad sleeve. I rebut your rebuttal. EDIT: I've just spotted our misunderstanding here: I'm not doubting your drummer's kerr-aziness, I was answering your "Is this a good sleeve?" question.

says nothing at all to me, its a picture of some people pissing in a toilet that looks like it was taken on a phone. the dodgy aliasing on the fonts screams paint.
plus i see a white belt + skinny jeans + converse, that says AVOID to me.

I don't see why the skinny jeans and chucks bother you, Zaphod.
that's the look about 40% of the bands you listed in the 20 first in your playlist, are going for.
...Besides, those look like 501's to me. if that's freakishly skinny than I guess pretty much anybody ho's ever worn a pair of jeans in HISTORY is a sheepish hipster not worthy of your respect. Think about it, are pants supposed to fit or are they supposed to flap in the wind and drag in the dirty streets?
SRB, The image you chose for a cover exhudes I'm not gonna bother with this-ness... If that's the face you put forward, (and that's perfectly okay AND many have managed to make that work, in the past), you have to expect people to respond in kind. Now I know this is not a big thing and you're mostly directing this release at people that know about you already but I'm the kind of person that thinks anything worthy of being done is worth doing well. If you're gonna go for a don't give a shit approach, do it to the max. Just scribble your band name on a sheet of paper and xerox it as many times as you need to.

I do care, I just haven't been able to put a whole lot of work into that right now with school, lack of photoshop at home, etc. etc. But I am getting a little bit done little by little. So I say maybe next monday, I will show what I have a new.

I hear you, so if Block Party put themselves on the cover of the first album you were aware of, you would have passed on it, though?

So to say this, it was taken on a nikko camera, the font was done in paint, my friend who took the pic, did that and gave it to us.

i don't buy albums based on covers.
unless the cover is particularly amazing.

well that kind of negates your original statement, then.
I'm not trying to be a dick, here but I will defend the skinny jean alliance to the DEATH, you heard?

I think putting the band on an album cover is kinda pointless, I wanted to do a drawing or something then edit it, but it's still nice to have people do stuff when you don't even ask for it.
also not familiar with block party.

he asked for an opinion, usually i wouldn't look at a cover for very long. quite often i'll go back to an album i know inside out and look at the cover to realise it's something completely differet to what it was in my head.
it's not the skinny jeans or the converse, it's mainly the white belt. i've never known anyone with a white belt like that who wasn't a wanker.

I think putting the band on the front cover is boring because it has been done to death. It makes me feel like I'm only going to discover music that has been done to death inside. But again, some people make it work for them.

I've met a few people that were simultaneously wearing white belts and being awesome but I guess this is realy a life experience thing. I have the same reluctance towards people that wear flip-flops outside of the beach or public change rooms.
Hey, guess what! I really don't wanna see your gnarly feet.

But who would really want to look at a short blonde kid, and a average height half asian dude. But we are a pretty different band in our town, next to the rock'a'billy trio, 5-piece folk band, and newly formed 3-piece punk band.

going back to album art though, the only covers i really like are proper simple. take this stars of the lid cover for example:
obviously it's not going for the sort of message you want but i'm always more attracted to covers like this. solid colour i lovez.

I can think of quite a few people that would like to look at shrimpy boys, in my neighbourhood.
What do the songs that you're putting on this disc remind you of? Is there a common theme? can you find a picture of that?
If the disc is targetted at local fans, how about a local landmark?
