I have a few colours about but I'm never adverse to buying new ones in if people want them. New paint day is a lovely day.

i own i ce-20 and a ce-5.
the CE-5 sounds very harsh to my ears, i've never really got a sound i like a 100 percent on it.

the CE-20 i got really cheap a while ago. the best setting is the CE-1 mode, sounds nice and warm, and very leslie like at faster speeds.

i'm hoping to buy stewart's CE-2 this month (don't worry stewart, i still want it), which i think will sound well nice.

i was just thinking today, probably my favourite ever keyboard sound is a rhodes through a CE2 with the rate on 0 and the depth on full. beeyooteefull.

i think the best chorus i have played is the small clone. the quadraverb is ok but the the EH has the toanz.

I dont think the Tone-lok series is analog but you can get reissue CS-9s.
Its a sound i've been trying to recreate as well, for god knows how long. I found the old Boss Digital Dimension a good comparison where the 'rate' setting is very subtle, but they are now rare and more expensive than CS-9's. Behringer do clones of a lot of older pedals, it may be worth checking them out.

What reverb are you using? I think he used a Quadraverb and you can pick up fairly cheap rackmount reverbs easily. When you consider the quality and quantity of sounds on the rackmounts, for the price difference it makes Reverb pedals redundant.

I have DigiTech DigiVerb. It's a great pedal and works great with an effects loop. I can see how a reverb rack unit would work out great. I might try to get a MidiVerb or Yamaha SPX90 at some point.

Yeah, i've read that a few times, cool stuff. I never knew he used a Shell Pink Strat untill i found that page and pics.

so apparently he used the Crest Audio fuzz face re-issue. according to this: http://www.analogman.com/fuzzstor.htm that was a NPN Si fuzz face (with BC109Cs). ...would be a cool little project to build one.

JMF, sounds interesting, i never thought about two choruses in series. thats nutz. im going to try it. also, didnt know that cocteau twins didnt use amps in studio. thats really weird too.

they were going for a totally different effect than i generally do, while still kind of being in the same realm musically. im more into the abrasive side of shoegaze, but i still can go to CT for inspiration at times. plus, it reminds me of my mom.

Coming to this a little late, I know, but anyhow:

Ibanez CS9: I had one of these and I liked it, but I had loads of problems with the foot switch. Offloaded it and bought an AnalogMan Chorus.

AnalogMan Chorus: Boutique version of the E-H Small Clone. At first I loved this pedal, then I worried unnecessarily that it sounded too thin. Sold it and immediately regretted doing so.

Retro-Sonic Chorus: Clone of the original Boss CE-1. Utilises a bucket-brigade analog delay, so it ticks all the right boxes in terms of authenticity. My current chorus pedal, quite thick and 80s sounding. I can't help but think that it loses some treble though. Probably going up for sale soon.

Of the three, I would say I liked the AnalogMan Chorus best.
