thanks! i'm looking forward to getting it completed, only thing is it's getting a bit chilly to be painting nitro in the shed. i'm hoping i won't have to hang on til spring to get it painted...

what scale is the neck?
and dang, if I'd known you needed some conversion bushings, I could have sent you some I was using with those tuners (the ones I gave you were the originals that came with those tuners).

it's a 22.5 i think.
um, yeah, the conversion bushings i ordered fit the holes in the neck but the heads of the tuners don't fit through the bushing! i'm flummoxed, as they were listed as being for klusons. i checked with a vintage kluson thinking maybe the measurements were different, but nope- didn't fit either. will see if i can get a refund.
could i have the conversion ones you were using? i'll sort you out for cash/postage etc.

I think you need to drill them out, that's what I had to do. I couldn't find any correct ones.

too hideous, i've seen some conversion jobs that look bloody awful.

ah well, never mind. they were pretty cheap anyways.
i got them on eventually, i had to enlarge the holes in the headstock ever so slightly to get the bushings in, and for some reason the third tuner overlapped the one next to it slightly, so i had to file the sides down a fraction. i suspect whoever drilled the bigger holes in the first place made a bit of a cunt of it and one of them was ever so slightly off.
i'm hoping to make a start on the colour coats on monday, depending how cold it is in my parents'
state of the art spray booth shed.

got it from manchester guitar tech. pricey (£30 all in for the colour and clearcoat) but i think the results are generally much better than halfords type stuff.

That is really good, possibly a cheaper outcome than Halfords actually. Is that in Aerosol form or are you applying it with an air sprayer?

it's in a rattle can. hurb used the same product on his faux XII and that looked spot on from what i remember.
