His name is Lester William Polsfuss. In America the name Lester is pronounced Les-ster noe Lez-ter, Les is short for Lester.
So of course it's Les(Less) Paul not Les(Lez) Paul.
it's not like the l-e-s in lesbian, that makes Lez.

In England you would say Les-ter, too, but the shortened version would always be pronounced Lez.
