moving backwards. is the reverse on the hardwire 100% reverb or more like 50/50 clean/verb?

my rf-1 is 50/50 and it could really do with a mix control or for it to just be 100% all the time on that mode.

I don't know about the hardwire but on the digiverb you can set it to any mix you like. so you can set it 100% wet if you like and then just run it through yr effects loop. or just play it 100% wet for MBV t0nes.

o rly? someone had a digiverb at doogfest and it seemed very similar to the RF-1. i make make a switch, i think i could probably profit from that too, i got my rf-1 for £40 and they retail for more so i shall check the bay and see how much they're going for.

Are you kidding? 200 dollars new for the equivilent of a holy grail?
With that plus about 50-60 dollars you could have a holiest grail.

The Holiest Grail has so much going for it, and is a shoegazer's dream come true.

I personally have used the Holy Grail on and off for nearly six years and don't really like it, except for the Flerb function that I do make use of from time to time. My main gripe is due to the knob being a mix control of sorts that will have your dry signal (read: output volume) swallowed up as reverb increases, which in essence is quite unlike the natural response from a amp's springbox. As shown on the Mr. Springy demo, the addition of more 'verb doesn't kill your clean signal, and the corresponding response differs significantly from the Holy Grail. I doubt I'd ever get a Mr. Springy, but I like how it sounds.

My present verb is a neato little EBS box. Both plate and room settings are really sweet, and gives a wide palate of space to move about...Here's a bass demo with the Dynaverb on a room setting:

otherwise, the PGS demo sucks. he's like "i have the input gain set low with my les paul into a 65 amps soho for a clean sound" (okay, he didnt say the 65 amps part) but then everything sounds overdriven anyway. wtf.

I think mike said that humbuckers break up earlier than single coils once.

What I think is BS anyway is how they'll have the amp overdriven when your watching an overdrive pedal demo.

What I think is BS anyway is how they'll have the amp overdriven when your watching an overdrive pedal demo.

the pickups dont break up, but hums tend to push the amp harder... you can get a clean tone with humbuckers, for sure, and that wasn't it.

PGS has an awesome library of terrible demos. its sad.

i watch them because they are sometimes the only one available, for certain effects. but they arent great.

a bit more consideration for the scientific process would do them wonders. they contaminate every specimen with that OD shit.

People know what strats and LPs sound like. For most people it's much more useful to hera a demo done with one of those, or a tele or whatever, than it is a jazzmaster.

aye i don't mind pgs demos. they're not blues wanky, they're close mic'ed and they get right to the point. they always sing the praises of their pedals but that's understandable 'cause they're trying to sell em.

the overdriven thing annoys me but their demos of fuzzes, delays, reverbs and modulation pedals are usually decent. have you ever watched gearwire's very own dan augusto? after that you'll appreciate good demos much much more.

how he can make a tele into a marshall sound that horrible is beyond me.
