Maybe your right, but I could have sworn it was a blonde finish.
Could've been, but given the huge red dragon thing on it he could have painted the whole thing.

Also I thought this was the Fonz at first.

Oh and what about Pete Townshend?
He used Tele shaped guitars built by Schecter in the 80's.

I was gonna put Muddy Waters but I happen to know he did all his best stuff with a Gibson Goldtop.

I still associate him with a tele though.

Well when he got big pub and mainstream coverage cause of the English he had a tele, but he was not at his best guitar playing wise at that time. In his prime he cut the majority of his great material with an electrified archtop for his early stuff and Gibson Goldtop with the trapeze tailpiece for my favorite stuff.

He also played a Guild Thunderbird later on, cause Guild payed him.

Shit, that reminds me.

Didn't make me want a tele, but DID make me want a Les Paul (and that totally counts), and cut a lot of classic business on his white tele in his early days.

Gibson just released an "inspired by" relic'd Les Paul based on that one in the pic for $15,000 (albeit without the neck binding damage). Good luck with those, guys... I'm sure it's the perfect time to market a "mike bloomfield (who??) signature-but-not-quite" guitar for that kind of cash.

I suppose this is probably a case of Fender stepping in and 'baggsying' dead musicians before anyone else does, so that now I'll always think of him when I think of teles (and vice-versa).

Did you know that Mozart played a tele?

albert collins was the first person to make we want a tele. i still want that blonde tele with a HB in the neck, can't do the white guard though, has to be black.

also joe strummer and i still love that rosewood tele george harrison had.

For me it was Graham.

Seemed to always ProCo his twin Plexis until they just about exploded, with Jimi riffs and stuffy chords galore, yet so much an old school punk player at times. Best mated with a Tele.

I think Chrissie was one of the 1st people I can remember seeing in concert playing a Telecaster.
