I'm not much of a big pedal user, all I have is an unmodded DS-1.
However, I only have single coil guitars - but I'd like to play some moderately hard rock (Foo Fighters). It doesn't have to excel, but it has to be okay. Can anyone recommend me a pedal? I use a Fender Super Champ XD.

Lulz is that Timhulio's or someone elses? Sounds cool innit?
By the way i happen to both import/retail the Chuck Collins AND own Harmonicpercolator.com.....will be putting a site together soon for self promotion and would be cool to publicise the clones out there if any makers are interested... Obviously loyalty and sliders mean my vote is with the Chuck but glad to spread the love on the interwebz if people wanna play too.

Tim's is awesome. My friend Brian has the Chuck, I like my Timhulio version much more. And it actually fits on my pedal board.
Tim also makes a utility perc, which is apparently a slightly more aggro HP I think.

I'm surely not the only one who totally loves this thing. Played the CIJ Strat (with low output Moollon '69s) at the gig last week thru the clean channel of the MODE4 and got some really good comments from my head-shaking session dude friend, along the lines of "I could have sworn you had fat humbucker tone rocking out of the cranked crunch channel on that thing, it sounded great". Rich and heavy overdrive with a squillion harmonics, a very tasteful midrange punch on tap, curiously transparent no matter where the drive knob is at, not an ounce of classic DS-1 clippy diode fizz, and a gate is so good it might make you hiccup. This thing will be on my board(s) for a very long time.

Imo you cant beat the proper valve distortion of an amp, but when your sharing amps at gigs its always handy to have your fave pedal.
In my set up my favourate has been this for a long time..
But i do use it with a Tubescreamer, both pedals on their own are quite bland but they work great together.
But for general purpose stuff without paying silly money i'd use this..

note that the channels are marked incorrectly on this one as Low and High.
In reality the channels should be marked as High and Aural Rape.
