Who's going to do the refin for you? Just curious if it's local (SW).

Nah, a cockernee Lahndan sort. I don't think there's a decent guitar setter-upper, salesman or luthier within the entire bottom left of this sceptred isle. Despite all those WTF Totnes School of Luthiery ads in guitar magazines.

Mansons in Exeter are good, however they will insist on refinishing your guitar in broken glass.

Benecolfact: my dad got banned from the petshop two doors up from Manson's when I was little for causing a parrot to fall off its perch.

I like tort on white and burst jazzies/jags but prefer a white/mint/parchment guard on all other colours... so while I wouldn't mess with the Surf Green Goodness, if you're really dying for a change maybe try a white guard? It's a time-proven scheme.

For me, I think a mint guard looks a little wishy-washy on surf green. I know I am almost alone in this, however.

I hate tortoise pickguards, and so I think all the colours look marred. It's like trying on a load of different t-shirts, but the whole time wearing this skanky red jacket of the top. Don't matter what one you wear, everyone's looking at the skanky redness.

I absolutely love it. Just be careful what colour switch tip you put on there.

I've always wanted a shell pink guitar, so much so that I started seeing things like Ultra's VWH strat as pink ;)

OTOH, dude your guitar is surf green, not some other boring color. IF i was you, i'd slap some nice mint pickguard on it, some white witch hat knobs and voilà - you're the king of the world!!!

Buy an unpainted Jazzmaster body, and have that done in Shell Pink. That way you can swap from green to pink and back again whenever you are bored and feel like working the screwdriver. And this way you won't decrease the value of the guitar in case you need to raise cash in an emergency.
