I have that trem too! you are right, the steel block makes a big difference. Very noticeable sustain and volume boost. the whole guitar is just louder. definitely the first thing I would suggest after the pickups when upgrading any strat style guitar.

The tremolo mod was the biggest improvement. It sat a little proud.

This was the Tremolo made for the Chinese/ overseas made guitars and the holes lined up as good as could be expected. I was happy with that.

Now I am going to take the bits left over from the SX and put some of them on my mini 3/4 Stagg strat. The tuners will be an upgrade for that. And I will take the bridge and put on it as well. I will make a through string hard tail, No trem. The Sagg has the high output bridge lipstick from GFS that fits strats. It sounds really good.

DSB this was a fun project. I like building an working on things, so I had fun working on it. I did like you did and looked at the reviews of Rondo's stuff on harmony central, so i figured it was not too much of a risk-sight unseen. I also had dealt with GFS before, having purchased the high output lipstick. I wanted a short scale and this was a cheap way to get into one.

oh, yea, this thing now kicks through my little pig nose amp.

Rondo e-mails me updates on sales and stuff now. So you can get on the list and wait it out until you see a special you want. I hope they don't have the cherry stained mahogany Agile LP JR. thing on sale anytime soon or my wife will freak when it comes in the mail.

could go slumming with this, however.

I haven't bought a guitar since September, and I think that might be the longest stretch in 6 or 7 years. I'm seriously considering a J-45, though.
