O/T: Why don't people at Guitar Center know this? Hiss, buzz, and hum are the most clearly different noises. I suppose the training isn't that thorough when you're only expected to punt Line 6 Spyders all day.
I had the Fish & Chips for many years - always worked well and the noise floor was very reasonable.

I use mxr 10 bands, i had the boss (mij), both are good but you can feel the difference : less noise and better tune with the mxr.

Turning on 2 pedals at once for dirty bass sounds would be a pain in the arrrrrrrse. I'd say go Turbo RAT (if you weren't considering that already), since the others don't work as well with bass in the "low-end drop out" stakes as a designated bass pedal.
